A gunner type class has been in the works for a long time, and the guild has been in the game since the start of 1.0. Plenty of people have been asking for it constantly, over and over again so I hope you're not counting that in with the jobs no one asked for. Personally I am very excited that I am finally getting my gunner type I have been wanting to play since 2010.

Race is fine, but nothing I'm jumping up and down for.
Also people have been asking for another tank and healer type class/job and that is what they gave.

DRK looks cool, gonna give it a try... not much a of a healer type so really have no interest in that. But to me it seems like they gave people what they wanted.

That's the problem I have with video gamers these days. They all think they're couch developers.

Well considering these are pre-ARR polls, we got pet class with summoner, ninja/thf, and original job. And we also got a mixed race / demi-beastman though something nobody expected. Needed some job to fill the tank requirement and I guess DRK was the easy choice.

Lots seemed to miss the ex viera, ex as in example. Never was stated in the poll that they were voting specifically for Viera.

People see what they want to see and read into stuff what they want to believe,

That new race looks cool iv all ways just been into playing races that are more human than anything else but I'll change to this for awhile it looks cool.

On to the point on the jobs people need to stop whining and think of this it has to fit in to the story and they do look like good jobs. I'm very happy with dark knight since it was my main in XI and I'm a paladin right now this means I don't have to switch roles or get a whole set of low lol gear.

Don't write them off till you try people they worked really hard to take a game that was failing in 1.0 into something so great that wer finally getting the first expansion way to go Square Enix

Personally, I would have liked the Red Mage job to make an appearence (since it is the only FF1 class left to port) and a More Bangaa/dragon-like Race I am MORE than happy with what we got, especially with the Dark KNight class and race being very different looking for both genders.

Also, i looked the Astologian class up on the FF wiki, as far as i can tell it is likely based on either the Time Mage (which would be AWESOME), OR a NPC class from Final fantasy tactics that was used by a single character.

If that's the case, then they should fix what sucks about it, not just sweep it under the rug and add a new pet-commanding DPS class to try and cover it up.

I don't mind what was announced, but I am peeved that we're getting yet another alpha male race. The females look great, but it would have been great to get a male counterpart that looks as youthful. That would also probably please the Padjal fanbase, without having to actually add Padjal.

Race is just kinda lazy, they're just buff Elezen with glued on horns and a tail and fragile moe even tinier midlanders with horns and a tail. Don't really know about having viera, I don't really want more straight up copypasta from other FF games so a "new" race is better in the end even if it's lazy looking.

New jobs, well Machinist is half of what I wanted with another half I didn't, but it has guns so it'll have to do and it doesn't really look bad. IIRC Astrologian was high up on the poll of requested jobs and it looks interesting too. Dark Knight I really don't care about it but it was kinda heavily requested too, though mostly as a DPS, so having it as a tank feels like they're trying to copy WoW again with their Death Knight tanks.

I think they mentioned there would be at least 4 new jobs at one point so there might a new caster, would make sense seeing how there's already a new tank, a new healer and a new physical ranged, with the new melee slot already filled in by Rogue/Ninja, but things that should make sense don't always do in this game so who knows.
