The chapel instance is capable of hosting the largest number of concurrent player characters, in an instance, at any time. Frontlines is 3 teams of 24 and that is still less than 80 guests plus the two hosting.

There is no reasonably justifiable technological limitation that makes chapel instances incapable of being spawned on-demand without needing to fight for timeslots when they only host 10 more players than the on-demand frontlines battlegrounds. Most wedding instances will probably also host less, and thus produce less server load.

How do you ensure the maximum number of attendees for what some consider a fairly important event? You schedule it in advance like you would anything else. It only makes sense.

This still doesn't explain why people need to fight over limited conflicting timeslots. In-game tools aren't necessary for scheduling, players have been doing it with alliance premades for months now.

Sorry if someone's already asked this but there seems no way I could be the first- does the system actually leave time slots as open and available for registration during known upcoming downtimes? If SE knows there are time slots impacted by maintenances- starting with planning out scheduled maintenances for the upcoming year, and booking those times as 'Closed for Renovation' before they're opened to players to pre-book- that would address one major aspect all on SE's side of things as it should be.

B.There's also going to be unscheduled patches and the need to change plans around timing which will impact those who had chosen legit dates, so SE should anticipate how many would likely get disrupted for a patch and they should hold open a comparable number of 'contingency' slots so anyone 'bumped' involuntarily due to an unscheduled patch has the option to choose one vs going to the back of the line.

No, the date it says it was posted is on the 16th. Date is displayed US style (they have to be different:P) month:day: year. 12:16:2014. The 16 should have given it away as last time I checked, there isn't 16 months in a year, not even a leap year :P

The date it has there is the date it was edited with new information, the old information was still there beginning of 2.45 which is what the OP highlighted. this stuff is kinda hard to miss considering its been shoved in your face everytime you log into the game since the start of 2.45. Unless of course you don't read your own chatlog.

They'd need a crystal ball to 'inform' themself considering they made reservations last friday..

Maintenance warnings were made before reservations even went live, and they were also posted in-game, even the NPC chaperone gives you a warning about maintenance times and reserving your ceremony at the same time maintenance happens.

Players may not be crammed wall-to-wall for every ceremony does not mean S-E can skimp on planning for this possibility. I would hate to be locked out of a time period because of insufficient instances available. Think of prime-time ceremonies and server load.

What if I two friends who both wanted to go through with the ceremony on the same day? At the same time? What if I want my ceremony at the same time, or start it spontaneously? I can't attend both. This is one way of preventing that.

If they knew ahead of time those slots weren't going to be available, I don't know why they didn't just block them from people booking it in the first place. That's not fair and this system is kind of ridiculous.

This is ridiculous. I'm already camping East Shroud during that time and no time to check the news section. I only found out about this after reservations were made.
SE should do a better job at scheduling maintenance.
