Since your so grateful, can you tell me where i can get dark matter to repair anything up to rank 40?
Seeing how all my repair stuff i was carrying around cant be used anymore now =p

I dont get why people consider this change so godly.
I mean any real crafter already permanently carries around an assortment of crafting materials and can probably even fabricate any repair material needed right on the spot anyway.

And its not like none crafters got much use out of them. xd

You can buy D.Matters from the Gathering vendor in the cities.

This is a link to YG page for Dark Matter. You can see the costs and vendors. You can also find the location of the said vendor to help you find him/her easier.

Can also get it from gathering.

LS member have said however the chance to obtain is really low. All time spent out gathering till the "fatigue" kicks in and you get maybe 1pc if you are lucky.

    Leves/Chests also reward D. Matter.

There are several ways, easiest, is the gil-sink and buy from vendor.

It is a godly change because...
#1: It cut down repair wait times dramatically because crafters don't have to go hunt for materials to repair some special item.
#2: It cut down repair wait times dramatically because it is very likely that a good number of people you meet on the street or in the middle of nowhere will be able to repair your stuff (carry the right ingredient).
#3: Repair costs are now pegged to the NPC Dark Matter price. With 100% success, this cost per item no longer varies. No dilemma for crafters to decide if something is worth fixing.

If I want to repair everything in Carpentry for example, I would need to carry all the branches and planks => Easily 15 or more inv spaces. For Cloth, all the spetches...Now extend to all the crafts minus cooking. All these now shrunk to 5 spaces...

Already found the Vendor (incidentally) Shyd, but thanks for the response, its nice to know all the places i could get it from.
I dont really do battle leves atm, (and gatherings still to low) so gil sink it is. :P

    @ Tymora
On repair chances, it not being 100% wouldnt be a bother if people didnt try to repair stuff 9 rank higher or such xd.
There wasnt much wait time if you were standing around @ repair npcs.
I dont know about special items, for weapons i guess? I dont haveny any experience in repairing those.
For the crafts i use i also keep my stock materials that i dont care with me on my retainers, so no big hunt either.

As for carrying all the brances and stuff in your carpenter example, its not like you dont already have to keep them on your retainer in case you ever need to make them for someone (or yourself).
In the cases you dont, itll likely be because its easy and fast to obtain from the market.

Interesting enough i was already carrying around 4 repair items, which would be 5-6 if i had my goldsmith/weaponstuffcraft up to date.

Still, the 100% rate is a plus in cases of not up to date crafts.

Dying durabilty drop combined with the new dungeons must be pretty heavy if people make repairing such a big deal nowadays.

I carried about 16 repair materials and can only repair a small fraction of everything I see in everyone's bazaar. Now I can fix entire inventories. And I am hardly the only one.

In the cases you dont, itll likely be because its easy and fast to obtain from the market.
Here you are assuming people will take the trouble to walk from the player to the market and back again. Is it worth the time? Most of the time no. If people offered 10k+ for such repairs and that is if the person stands just outside the wards.

And a good number of the repair items are hardly found in the wards. Metal rings for one. It may not be at a good price even if it was on sale.

I feel the same way: Dark matter is probably one of the best things to come out of patch 1.18.
