You act like your cash shop thread is something different than the 12233245235 of them that have come across here just this week. It really isn't.

I say FATEI just saw the post about this year's Starlight Celebration event.
Premium Starlight Gift Bag
Don't even know what this is or what it'll do, but it's interesting to have a premium next to green and red, instead of gold, no? Smells like cash shop if you ask me... "during this season of giving, it is the thought that counts" - so they think we give them our money and they can get away with it, or what?
premium is for gold reward, red is silver and green is bronze
Does it worth my money? I am not sure I have money but I don't have time
I am not interested in coil
I am not in to crafting
I am not in to fishing mining tree chopping...
I love collecting minion and mount and help new players
I wonder I what should do now all I do is afk in MD
is it worth my sub i dont know you tell me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdQP...BgaDV50sGJtWAg you vanity queens need to get over it.

Someone linked this article to the forums a few days ago.
http://www.develop-online.net/news/f...s-wada/0105940
It pretty much says they think of or did all the way back in 2009 think of FFXIV as a microtransactional model. They wanted to do the same for FFXI but it appears the audience of the time would not stand of for it so they didn't. Here's a quote from that article and a link for the full read.
Wada went on to outline the subscription and microtransaction models that FFXIV will employ, adding the company is looking to improve on the Final Fantasy XI system. In that article it states the demand for this kind of business model was high. However in the ffxi days they didn't think they could charge for it and get away with it basically.“We soon learnt that there are a lot of people who want that kind of model, so we would like to introduce more pay-as-you-use items into the game. But there were too few items in FFXI – however we don't want to take it to the other extreme entirely for FFXIV.
I really hope when they said take it to extreme entirely they meant a slower less relevant to game content cash shop. I can't really imagine what the extreme model would look like but hope I never do.
Why can they get away with it now? Economy is worse off now than it was in 2000 but for some reason more players have money to burn. I don't know. The money I save from cash shop I am putting into my daughters college fund for when she is 18. Better spent there than on some cash shop item.
I DON'T WANT ANY OF MY SUB MONEY GOING TO CASH SHOP ITEMS FOR OTHER PLAYERS. SELFISH YES.
Everyone that plays this game does it for one main selfish reason. To enjoy it personally. Nobody plays this game cause a gun is to their heads. WE all want something from it. I want my sub money to go to game content and cash shop money go to development of cash shop items. Some reason I get the impression that if cash shop don't pay for itself our sub money will help it along like a subsidy till it does. There's money we lose for game content.

That 'know' would have been helpful. I'm not picking on his grammar, I was literally unable to understand the statement because a critical verb was missing.
If I were being a grammar Nazi I would have pointed out that you did not capitalise Nazi.
