There are people who are quite happy to spend just that kind of money. People whose ego is so invested in the game that they are happy to pay extortionate amounts to be 'the best' on their server, whether that means market dominance or BiS gear.

Allowing people the ability to obtain in game currency (albeit with an intermediary step) without having to do anything in game to achieve it is anathema to an MMO.

If success has a price then it has no value.

It's not winning the game, I know someone who bought T5 and T9 (earned the cash through crafting not selling bracelets) while I'm still at T8 (no skips).

In my opinion I've won more of the game than her and am enjoying the challenge.

There's a lot more competition between merc groups on some servers than others.

Someone charging 200mil here would never see a single gil.

This also seems like a 'server' specific problem (kinda like hunts and housing were/are tbh). On my old server, you can almost always find at least 1-3 people trying to sell these items on the PF (I still have an alt on my old serve to keep in touch w/ friends etc). On my new server, I've only seen maybe 1 person advertising in the PF. Grant it, I don't look often, but it just doesn't seem like the thing to do here. Maybe also why SE has the stance they are currently taking...since it's only likely problematic on some servers....and since the initial 'Player Bond Newness' craze will soon end (meaning less people will want to buy/need to buy in the first place)...and since either way SE still makes a profit, it likely isn't worth them 'fixing'

In 2-4weeks, I just don't see it being an issue anymore as most people who really want to be married and/or who are already playing will buy in....and without potential interested customers, this behavior will dry up.

I am hoping to marry my hubby in game one day...but as for now, it's not happening as he is currently happier playing console games/Destiny and has asked me to stop his subscription for now. So unless he decides to give the game another go, I won't get the chance to marry in game. But still, I'm okay with that b/c if/when we do decide to get married, I likely won't have trouble reserving a spot.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure full FCOB sales are actually more like 8-10 mill or so, if people are overgeared enough to do them yet. So you'd need to spend around $40-$60, not $20, if we're going by the average server price.
