Sometimes it's good to take a deep breath and ask yourself, does the thing I'm mad about actually matter?

Does it really affect me in any meaningful way?

I suspect it does not, in this case. Gil really does not afford much meaningful advantage. What does it really get you? Housing, a purely aesthetic thing? A more optimally melded Novus, the difference between which and a sub-optimally melded Novus 99% of people are not skilled enough to capitalize on?

Most people get by with very little gil and for good reason. You don't need much in this game.

I think being upset that the specific house you were working very hard to save up for was bought by someone who was willing to shell out $200 is a pretty valid complaint.

This is just one example of many possible ways that this will effect people. You won't directly notice most of them, but it will effect things.
