I'm just glad you can get heavy thrust buff and chaos thrust dot playing solo now. It was nearly impossible to get those positional against enemies from maps or your weekly b rank hunt mob. You would get an opening if they did a cone aoe and that was about it.

Don't forget that the 'abacus' that you are using must be updated for the new dot potencies, so your dps recorded isn't the full amount.

As for my change, i think i've went from 485~ sustained to about 510-515~. That is quite good considering that they don't do much for raid. Still, MNK is ahead and the difference between ninja isn't that severe either.

Why are so many people saying this is over the top?

Monks will still do more damage single target. Drgs will do more damage AOE like always.
And both monks and ninjas still have far far better utility.

    Sounds balanced to me.

I don't mind the damage buff. They needed it. What they didn't need was to make it faceroll easy. You can miss ALL your positionals and only drop roughly 2% net damage, or, flank or rear only and loose about 1%. As long as you keep up 2 dots and HT you are doing 98% of the best drg on the planet. There's no room for skill at all and that's just sad.

Hmm...I can use HT and CT to nearly full effect while playing solo? I don't have to be in absolute perfect position to land my chaos thrust dot on a mob or have my pokeypower increased if the critter moves or the tank doesn't understand the concept of staying still for a second? AND I get "extra" jumps? Sounds good to me. What's going to happen in party battles? Still going to HT from the side, still going to use my chaos combo from the rear. Just going to jump more.

It still looks like the order of top damage goes (ST) Mnk > Nin > Drg. It's just that the gap between nin and drg isn't that much and nin is still doing somewhere between 10-25 less dps than mnk. Factor in what nin/drg are buffing the party/brd by and the two may slightly edge out mnk.

So what if we get close to your monk 1337deeps with minimal skill involved? Does it change the fact that monks are still st dps king? Does it change the fact that besides still being top dps, monks still have better utility than Dragoon? So much meaningless tears in this thread.
What? Id wager all three classes have a fair bit of simplicity mixed in with some level of complexity... but DRG prolly has a tad bit more then NINs and MNKs combined.. and in that sense is a tad bit more diffcult to master and play efficiently. Still.. it is odd so many say these are "over the TOP".. when:
    MNKs are still TOP DPS
    MNKs are still TOP Utility
MNKs are still easy to play and master ... >=P
NINs are still on par with DRGs
NINs still provide more Utility, and it can be argues their Utility is on par with MNKs
NINs are still the easiest melee class to cheese with and still put out respectable DPS

You still have to work decently hard to maintain a competitive and above average DPS on DRG... and they provide NO utility... except a decent buff to BRDs.

These arent over the top, these are balanced and great additions that now make all 3 melee classes very close to each other.

Nah Ninjas output of damage was more then that of drg before this latest buff
I do agree however that in terms of overall damage all 3 are fairly close now

Nah I actually like MNK as is. It's a very fun and semi challenging job, but I like how it's played and how I play it, it feels very fluid with the numbers MNK can dish out. DRG's needed this buff, their animations on certain attacks call for the higher numbers. I believe MNK is still high in terms of DPS output over DRG, but DRG's can actually NOW compete as DPS lol.
