I understand the idea behind why SE made the items tradeable, so you can provide your partner with the item they need for you two to do the Eternal Bond.

However, it then being able to be sold via trading for gil is RMT and is a nasty oversight on SE's part and should have something done about it IMO.
This goes for the new dyes as well.

I am okay with these new items being in the cash shop (although not everyone will agree with me), but items that are available solely through the cash shop for real money should never be allowed to be sold (even if in a roundabout way) for in game money.

I feel that at least for now they should limit the number of times an account can purchase the Eternal Bond items within a specified time, for example an account can only buy two total of either of the Eternal Bond items per month. It may not fully stop the selling of these items for gil, but it could at least limit it somewhat.

Or they can use that marvelous scan they used to come up with housing prices a few months ago. So easy to find gilbuyers. Will SE perma ban them? Of course not, they still pay sub which is more important.

As long as you're paying for someone else, it can always be sold for gil in a round about way.

Paying for gil is illegal in all cases except for what appears to be SE's sanctioned gil system. It /can/ be as you said always worked around but those workarounds can be reported and be bannable offenses.

    This.. is.. its different.

Even if they perma banned people from buying gil in ffxiv its not like it'll stop people from buying gil. They'd probably just buy it even more roundabout ways.

Ya, if a lot of people buy the bands to sell them then you kind of get an idea of who to avoid (If you don't like that type of player.)

If anything I am glad this is the case because with RMT they can hide behind lies of how they "Earned their gil." With selling these items it's like, you didn't earn anything you bought three $20 items, sold it, then bought merc runs. Which again leads me to not be able to complain, as I am certain most people I have sold merc runs too have all bought gil. Yet none of us mercs complained then lol; wouldn't change any way now.

Either way my only beef is that 1 dye = $1 if anything it should be 5 dyes = $1.

TL;DR Those people probably would buy gil anyways. I'll take less RMT tells anyday.

If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump 8, 32 caliber, slugs into it, it's probably a dragon.

People can still hide though, they can hide behind alts for example and just trade the gil over to their main accounts.

I have the feeling already we touched pay to win in this latest patch, just because things like that. Now, to those damn protectors of the cash shop because "optional"...

IS GIL OPTIONAL TOO?!....Issues with materia and novus? No problem, buy something in the cash shop and sell it, solved! At this point we could delete crafting classes.
While Gil may not necessarily be "optional", purchasing said item off another player certainly IS.

Anyone going to actually comment on this?
