yeah right. since BUYING IN GAME currency is not pay to win. get a clue plz. it clearly is. the same crap happend on aion and now its full pay to win. pay to save yourself gil farming time is the same as pay to win. no difference to me.

People buy in game currency in this game anyway. Why do you think RMT people still spam to this day? It's because they're still making a profit out of it due to the people that continuously buy gil. At least this way SE can pocket the cash themselves instead of it going to a third party.

More like it's SE's way to justifying this by putting it behind a paywall yet still making the items tradable. I don't have a problem with it either since it now gives you two different avenues of getting it if you so desire. I'd rather SE make more money than RMT people who would have profited off this since SE would have done it behind a gil wall or time wall otherwise. Before I hear comment about how they should have made it completely free at the get go, it should be noted that you need to reserve your ceremony. Can you imagine ridiculously booked it these ceremonies would be if everyone could get it immediately? You'd probably have to wait months if you didn't get there early. Also there would be server problems with how many people that wanted to book at the same time.

What I'm noticing in all these threads is people who don't understand how buying bands from players and buying gil from RMT are two separate things. To clarify:

Buying Eternal Bands from players
Player X bought the band, and wants to sell it. Player Y buys it from him for 5 million gil. That gil was on an active player who was spending it on in game trades. Player X now has it, and if they buy items off the market board or from other players, the gil now belongs to Player Z.

This is currency circulation. There is no inflation of gil being circulated, and is legal.

Buying Gil off RMT bots
Player X decides to go to some shady website. Dont buy the gil, it remains on the bot account and not in the circulation of the game currency. Buy the gil, and now there's an abnormal amount of gil gained through inhuman means.

This gil isn't in the normal market circulation, this inflates the economy. This is illegal.

They are both being called RMT because real life money was used to buy a digital item, and said digital item is being sold for in-game currency.

It'll probably be cheaper to buy items directly from the cash shop than to get funded through a gil buyer. I think the current price for one million gil is 5 dollars or so. If people sell one platinum plan for 7.5 to 10 million gil which is pretty reasonable then its much easier to just buy it from the cash shop. Instead of paying around 35 to 50 dollars to get funded for RMT.

Well, not sure what RMT is selling Gil for on your server but, 50$ on Hyperion get's you maybe, 20k. So 20$ for an item selling in PF for several million gil? Much cheaper to buy from SE then to buy from a shady RMT bot.

Or they can use that marvelous scan they used to come up with housing prices a few months ago. So easy to find gilbuyers. Will SE perma ban them? Of course not, they still pay sub which is more important.
