Yep, you're right. Which is why I'm arguing against the cash shop in any and all forms instead of pretending what I'm interested in is somehow "more important" or "less optional" than what someone else is.Based on your character I see you're in High Allagan gear, also known as Second Coil of Bahamut gear - raid content for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Why did you choose to do this content? I mean it's optional content and you don't need gear because it's optional, so why did you choose to get the gear?
You know..you kind of made the choice to do the content and get the gear, much like you make the choice here to use the cash shop or not. The simple act of logging on is optional if we're going to play that card.
Which is why the majority of the arguments against the cash shop are silly because they're arguing that their vanity items are just as important if not more important to the game and its longevity which any history has shown unless your MMORPG is called MapleStory, chances are actual content, specifically Raid content/Battle content is what will keep your game going unless you specifically market your game as a garden simulator or something.
Vanity items are more important to some people, and pretending that what's important to you is the only thing that matters is asinine and incredibly arrogant. In-game items shouldn't be gated behind a credit card number, vanity or not.Which is why the majority of the arguments against the cash shop are silly because they're arguing that their vanity items are just as important if not more important to the game and its longevity which any history has shown unless your MMORPG is called MapleStory, chances are actual content, specifically Raid content/Battle content is what will keep your game going unless you specifically market your game as a garden simulator or something.
Wealthy people don't remain wealthy by handing their cash out to people who nickle and dime them. Food for your overcompensating, condescending mind.
If players are willing to pay a monthly subscription on frivolous things. They can deal with paying for frivolous items in the cash shop.
This guy hits the right spot.
If it's that important, and it's in the cash shop. Then you pay for it. What? You go to a store and tell the cashier "This is important to me, so I'll be taking this for free"?. You guys agreed and accept the ToS. Your Monthly Subscription does not entitle you to everything.

If that cashier used my money that I already paid them to make an item they said would be included in the price, then tried to charge me again for it. You're goddamned right I'm taking it.This guy hits the right spot.

Show me please. In which notes/letter/video did SE said specifically anything about those particular items behind the cash shop being included with the price (subscription)?
Really? Please point out which content are now starting to get forced to pay for? Unless to you items = content. You equate endgame raid as content, then proceed to say that content are being forced to pay for. I don't see any content being gated by cash shop.

The chocobo/dresses that are part of the platinum wedding package have been shown as part of the wedding system in game before the cash shop even existed. They've been hyped as part of the marriage system since ARR was in beta.
Shown as part of the wedding promotional trailer but not stated as free or included in the price of subscription. Why can't they advertise cash shop items in a promotional trailer?
Yea, it's still part of the marriage system. No doubt, but it's an optional part. They didn't promised you anything.
And they are STILL part of the wedding system. The wedding system in the cash shop. These things are not mutually exclusive.
