I'm assuming you are using 2x PbP, INGII, and 4xCSII. If you don't want to use RS, you can use 3x PbP and 3x CSII.
That extra <200 boost to BB isn't enough to justify the extra 17 CP.

Actually, it's about even if you compare it to MM2 (160 CP / 6) = 26.7 CP per turn. With that said, it's not worth it, in part because of the cost of shark fin soup and because there's no noticeable benefit. You're not saving CP - you actually have a lower margin of error because the smaller CP pool - and you lose a CS2 at the end to fish for BB procs with.
6 synths is still disgusting in my opinion, 5 or bust.
