It's not bound til you actually hit the confirm on placement tho. When you first go to place something in your house it does say "placing this item will cause it to become bound" or w/e. But it's not til after you move it around and rotate it to where you want then confirm it that it actually bonds. So when you do go to place something you see the preview of it there, how big it is, what it looks like, and so forth. Just cancel it instead of confirming placement so it goes back to your inventory and doesn't bond. But yes at the MB before buying it would be handy to have a 3D model of it appear to see what it looks like. That way you don't buy it, take it back, don't like it, then have to resell it.
On a plus note tho, furniture that is bonded can be placed in the company coffer. So if you do happen to have furniture you don't want/want to sell to someone in your FC you can place it in there for the trade purpose. So you aren't permastuck with it.

Its just that if you don't like it now I have to go back and try and resell it. Some items are not hot sellers, if I want to move it fast I'll probably take a loss on it. Of course with the way the MB is, probably will take a loss. I do see lots of items cheaper than the mats to craft them, of course though I would just buy the item and not the material.

It would be nice to just check out some of the items before hand though. Like the high end stuff, to see how it looks and if its actually worth the effort to gather up the mats.
