Which is something I've never once seen any Ninja doing, so it never came to mind when making my case.
Poorly educated about Ninjutsu, but not trolling. Sorry for a page of disturbance.
Just an opinion after playing tank then dragoon and now trying ninja.
A. Dragoons need the help. Losing that buff because of spinning tanks/mechanics is a large hit so I think this is deserved.
B. I think they should have given dragoons the buff and then waited to see if that balances out the classes before nerfing anyone.
C. If a nerf was going to come to Ninja, as a tank, I would have liked to see it in the threat they generate. I've been tanking for a long time but the initial burst threat those guys put out seems to be insane.
That said the patch hasn't dropped yet so I'll wait to see if this all works out. I have both classes. I just don't want to see either one suffering simply for the sake of saying we 'fixed it' in light of complaints.

"Speak softly, and carry a big stick." -Healers motto brought to you by President Theodore Roosevelt
When we talk about balance, overpowered, underpowered class. Don't compare yourself to the best dps of them all while ignoring other classes or else blm, smn, bard also need buff
I said dragoon is fine when it come to their dps. Reading, learn how to do it.he sees a 520 parse on a dragoon and thinks the class is fine. LOL
Dragoons are not fine when it comes to their DPS.
And a very good Dragoon is telling you that Dragoons are not fine when it comes to DPS unless we get a lucky streak with Crits. I've been back a week and I've already seen issues with this Job.
I don't think you're a good dragoon if you're putting out sub-par DPS at this point in the game.
Plus, having a good DPS in this game isn't exactly rocket science, especially as a DRG. As long as you're doing your attacks in the right order you're good. Not saying that it can't be difficult at times, only that there is no hidden super rotation that only top players can follow. At equal gear and crit% every decent DRG should come up with the same numbers when wrecking dummies. In my opinion, only in actual encounters is there room for more subtle plays.
And that's why I'm having a hard time believing your numbers Daweism :< I mean, with my nexus and my ilv116 no accuracy gear (611 STR, 606 crit, 324 det, 388 SS) I barely parse 500 dps on a dummy. No party buff and no mercy stroke but still... Don't think it would be enough to get me 20 dps higher, high crit rate or not. Even more so with ilvl114 gear.
I will give it a try when I can.
Party buff is about 3% increase dps, so 15, and mercy stroke should be about 5, so yeah, that's possible -- add a bit of luck on crit and you're set![]()
Sub-par DPS at this point in the game, in comparison to other Dragoons, I agree with you. But anyone claiming that Dragoons DPS is "fine" is either someone who is the only melee DPS in their raid/groups, or the Monks/Ninja's they play with are bad at their job.
