That's one more field than is needed. Like I said, the player should only have to specify their class/job, and nothing else. Also, seeking a party and creating a party should be separated into two different tabs within the window.

Anyway, I cooked up a simple mockup UI in MS Paint real quick for what I think the Party Search should look like:

It's only a rough draft, and there's probably room for improvement, but you get the idea.

It's not exactly more than one field since one of them is saying you're seeking an invite and not creating a party.

That's something that should be done with tabs, not fields.

You should really consider adding a free text field. In the LFG tab as well as in the LFM tab. It works wonder to precise what we want/don't want to do and adds a personal touch to the whole system. Also in FF14 case, it could be used indirectly to determine the player/party language - and a lot of people want that (at least I wouldn't want to do an instanced raid with the translator current state ).

Also I really think a role-based searching focus is more appropriated to a 2011 MMO, instead of the old classic cornering of each class in a definite role. It would ease a lot the LFM part too, since we are doomed to have a consequent number of classes anyway. Or maybe it's only Rift speaking here...
