Will we be able to change Free Company names ever?

It would be nice if it can be done with ingame bureaucracy.
The FC leader have to buy 3 formulars with GC seals (around 10k seals each) from the GC and one with tomes (1500) from Rowena. Every member have to put their signatures on them an then the leader give the formulars back to the GC.

I wouldn't even mind if it was real money like other MMOs do (though I'd prefer a sizable chunk of gil to pay instead). I just want the ability to do so.

These are the types of things our monthly fees are supposed to cover. Our monthly fees aren't supposed to go towards them devolping an expansion which we then have to pay for. If free MMOs can offer such a simple thing then a P2P MMO should definently be able to.

It would take a Dev 10 mins to add this. It is not even worth paying for but with the types of people ARR attracted (people like this) I could totally see SE doing this and "getting away with it".

Anyways bump since we should have this already. Just like we shoulda had mail in 1.0. =p

Hear hear! I would like this feature in one for or another. I took over owner/leadership of a small FC when the original leader left, but would much like to change the name. Starting over from scratch isn't even an option really. It's hard enough to find new members as it is.

Significantly more happens when updating things like this than a name simply changing in game, but you know this. I'm guessing you've already put in your resume for the job? Surely they would pay top dollar for anyone who can program something like this in a matter of minutes.

I do agree with this, but I also think that the new name must require signatures from other members to take effect. Otherwise FC leads could change the name whenever it pleases them.

It's such a simple feature, it's very disturbing that this has not been implemented yet.

I agree that this should be implemented as well. If a person is new to managing a Free Company, they may end up changing the direction of the Free Company down the road and it may call for a name change! Surely, if they allow a person to change their character name (albeit for real-world money -_-), they can easily implement a system where players are able to change their Free Company name.
