Will we be able to change Free Company names ever?

I would love for us to be able to change free company names. Now before I get told 'why did you pick that one?' and 'just make another!' here is my situation:

My free company was originally made by a group of friends with whom we played another mmo. Many of that original group did not stay. Now we have an entirely new composition of our free company and the name not only doesn't fit anymore but we have no way to change it. I know we can change the tag but that really doesn't solve the problem.
Starting over would mean having to level a new one from scratch (we're well on our way to rank 6 now) and losing our 300k+ in company credits. Also we would have to re-recruit in a situation where many FC's are scrambling to pick people up as well to try to rank up to the new max. Also we have some members who are currently not playing due to financial obligations over the holidays but will be back. I would hate to reform the free company and have them log in and feel abandoned if they cannot find us quickly.
This was an existing concern of ours for several weeks now, but it's even more concerning now as we're considering buying a house and investing a significant amount of gil. If we do that, as I understand it, we lose the house if we have to disband to change the name.

So I ask, will this be an option? Can we expect an ability to change the name?

I would imagine it is disabled to avoid the FC's being 'sold'. Not sure, though. I'm fairly indifferent either way.

I would absolutely love this option. We can already change linkshell names on a whim, but not free companies. As FCs are typically made up of smaller, tight knit groups of friends, I don't see why they shouldn't have the option to put in for a name change. Even if it had a cooldown on it, it would still be a very welcome change.

But wait, where are the doomsayers on this matter to inform us of how the sky will fall if SE even thinks of adding this, or how it shouldn't be in the game simply because they personally do not want it? Oh well, I guess it's up to me!

I wouldn't mind if it was a fee to change the name. I mean even just 50k would be enough of a fee to prevent abuse of it.
But lol, yes I wish we did pick the name we wanted before we knew we wanted it. That would solve this entire issue.

Did you forget you're paying a monthly fee?

These are the types of things our monthly fees are supposed to cover. Our monthly fees aren't supposed to go towards them devolping an expansion which we then have to pay for. If free MMOs can offer such a simple thing then a P2P MMO should definently be able to.

It would take a Dev 10 mins to add this. It is not even worth paying for but with the types of people ARR attracted (people like this) I could totally see SE doing this and "getting away with it".

Anyways bump since we should have this already. Just like we shoulda had mail in 1.0. =p

Significantly more happens when updating things like this than a name simply changing in game, but you know this. I'm guessing you've already put in your resume for the job? Surely they would pay top dollar for anyone who can program something like this in a matter of minutes.
