For a system that focuses on a couple's gameplay and enjoyment, yes I would go as far as to say that a 2-person mount is a pretty big part of the system that has now been cutout for them to make a quick buck.

When did SE ever outright say that everything they've shown us would a) be a part of the basic wedding system rather than a bonus and b) would cost neither gil nor real money? For all we knew, the mount could have been an extra that would cost 5 million gil. All they ever did was show us pictures and tell us that the Eternal Bond system was coming, without any specific details beyond that.

Additional charges may apply only if you make a deliberate decision to purchase things. You aren't going to be hit with sudden unexpected charges. You don't have to pay a cent beyond the subscription cost if you don't want to.

Still should have been disclosed, Apple added the "in-app purchases" field in their App Store due to some legal trouble iirc.

because at that time, no cash shop was involved... strangely we did think they will never add a cash shop, like they have said. but well we was naive maybe.

That doesn't change anything. The point is that SE told us absolutely nothing about how the system was actually going to be implemented in-game, so getting upset and claiming that they "changed" things or "watered them down" or anything like that is patently false because they never made any claims about how things were going to work in the first place.

Remember what you just said when this practice starts moving deeper into the game. This cover's everything they ever have and ever will say or preview. Hope you enjoy it when it becomes too much because you're giving them the good to go now. Cash shop is one thing, making ingame content intentionally dull is something completely different.

I'm excited to see where the gold saucer system is heading now.

As long as they don't start putting BiS weapons or gear in there or selling items that allow you to increase your level (like WoW does) or otherwise give you advantages over other players, I honestly couldn't care less. The amount of hyperbolic "what ifs" in these threads has gone far beyond the point of ridiculousness.

I find the whole thing awkward and pointless. I didnt get a fighting adventure game to be going around getting married. As well as I don't see the use of buying a house apart from a waste of cash. I'm here to raid do dungeons kill mobs confront heavy bosses get weapons.

This add on is a complete waste of time and I still cannot get my head round as to why people find it fascinating.

I know this is an option (hopeless one I must highlight) that I won't be using as it brings NOTHING productive to the game.

That being said, we are both on opposing sides of this argument and will not be budging from our views so I say it was good debate. Have fun with this system if you decide to use it and whatever happens next time will happen. I personally wont put anything past them at this point so let's see how Gold Saucer will work. Heck the mobile app with Triple-Triad cards from all previous Final Fantasy games is actually making the fanboy in me start to throw down my wallet already. The point of it is that, if you play this game regularly with a significant other or best friend (etc.), you might like to do something to bond the characters together. If you go through the eternal bond, you'll have the ability to instantly teleport to wherever that significant other is whenever you want, plus you'll have the opportunity to experience a special in-game event/quest together that results in a special ceremony. In the future, it may also provided additional functionality related to player housing (though that isn't there at launch).


I know a lot of couples who play this game and who will really appreciate this system. But obviously it's not for everyone; in fact, it's probably not even for most players. The fact that it's sort of a "niche" feature may be why they included optional plans, since they spent a lot of time/money developing a system that likely only a fraction of the players will use directly. For those to whom it matters as a symbolic gesture, it may be worth it for them.
