Isn't it a waste of money if you buy higher tier but you partner doesn't, since it uses the lower tier one?

I think you'll still get all your personal items (outfit, mount, etc.), just not have all the gold/platinum ceremony options.

I might've read this wrong but is the minion *only* available to guests? Seems a little unfair that it'd be me forking out for the ceremony but I have to wait until someone else I know gets hitched

I'm sure there will be players that will have open ceremonies. I expect party finder to have some like that. "Getting married. Send tell for inv"

Given that you have to keep an invitation for yourself, I'm guessing that you'll get one too... but it doesn't seem to say either way. I guess early adopters will find out soon enough.

Check out this page that explains all the steps. The rings are just a part of the process, but you have to start at the Mog Station.

Funny enough did the marrige quest with another person for fun.... and we cant finish it cause you have to "reserve" the damn thing.... and cant do so till Friday!.... they really couldve just added a private ceremony option for those that wanted to finish the quest. :S
