To make it short, you'll go to the Mog Station, select a plan, pay it if needed, and then you'll get a special quest in-game (where you'll get the rings and all that, too).

is not overblown.... it's natural to react like this, we get more and more micro transaction into a P2P game! some company have try it (like for Dead Space 3) and they was bashed by the community too.
you can't ask people to pay a sub and after ask them to pay for more content inside the game... what it's next? DLC? they need to stop before ruin what they have done so far. if we don't stand firm on this one, what will come next.
it's where a forum must be used, it's time for the community to make them voice be heard and ask for a stop in this abuse!
SO let me get this forum straight...
The ceremony, arguably the reason why anyone would care to get married in a "virtual" game in the first place, is free... (unlike real life; which is fine since this is a game)
The extras, which make the ceremony more flashy, glitzy, etc., cost a one time fee for a minion, mount and clothes and hair (which people always jokingly say "I would pay money for that" whenever its shown in screenshots)(in addition to the fact that if anyone has a two person mount they probably paid money for it in the form of another copy of the game and the sub) and that is the tipping point for 'net rage.
I just came off of a crazy black friday (crazy for me because i bought a wii u and i usually dont buy much) spree where I was thinking of buying a ton of Nintendo Amibos for Smash because of a buy-one-get-one 40% off deal. One thing stood out to me. If you (general "everyone" you) really want something, you can find the funds for it.
This is hardly SE being greedy. The name of the game for any successful business in today's world is "Diversification". SE is trying to create an eco system where can produce more income. If you were running a wedding chapel I have no doubt in my mind that you would different tiers of packages offered.
Now i hear you say, "But...subscription. I payz it" but the way I see it is similar to Xbox Live, PS Plus, Amazon Prime, Spotify, and dozens other sub services: Your sub gets you in, and a basic service, anything extra is presented to you as an Option and you have the freedom to walk away (or in this case, take the free wedding, since being married is all you care about in the end).
Because at the end of it all, or the day after your in-game ceremony, most of the people looking forward to marriage just want to be married. Fin.

Frankly the only data SE, or any company cares about is their profits. If the data shows that people don't care about this issue they will continue to do it. The data I'm talking about is subscriptions and amount of money they are taking in from microtransactions. To them the microtransactions are just icing on the cake, the real money comes from subscriptions. So honestly, you can complain about it all you want, but unless you're willing to cancel your subscription over this, your complaints are meaningless.
So if you really want to "Stand up" to SE, why haven't you canceled subscription ?
The reason they are doing this and will continue to do it, is because despite what people say in the forums, the subscriptions data shows that in reality people don't care. Unless they see a drop in subscriptions every time some new cash shop thing is announced, they will continue to add more in the cash shop.

Technically, mmos have had dlc since their beginning in the form of expansions.is not overblown.... it's natural to react like this, we get more and more micro transaction into a P2P game! some company have try it (like for Dead Space 3) and they was bashed by the community too.

I'm not saying I want them to add gated content, but they really havent locked people out. With the draught choco being behind another account subbing, are people really surprised the marriage one requires a extra fee? We still have no idea what this entails, but i dont think it will be outrageous. So far, none of the other paid services are priced too high. I don't see them starting now.
What they detailed as the eternal Bond system is still available to all free of charge.

seriously? cancal a subs don't solve the trouble, it's only ignoring the trouble...
or it means i was stupid to continue to pay for the V1 for that some people get ARR? because after all is not different. we was complaining about poor decision and poor design into a game... if we had do what you say, we will had never seen ARR. you see the point?
people are there' defending what it's undefendable as action into a mmorpg industry. more and more they take player for a simple credit card number. do we must still allows this?
the mmorpg Forum is there for voice your complain about what you feel is a poor design, if you are happy with them choice, it's your right, however, it's the right of the other to feel that what they do are horrible!

For people doubting the cash shop side of it - the fact that you have to register for the whole thing via the Mog Station (which was said in the live letter) is pretty much solid proof for it.
Yeah, except what used to be a fear has realised since then, no? Cash shop did come in. And the fears regarding that, no matter the "glamour/fluff content only" thing, are also becoming more and more real - past seasonal items that used to be freely available for a few gil in-game were the first, now it's "extras" for a long-teased, much anticipated feature (some which extras are just rehashes at that)... Don't tell me the trend is not fueling the flames.
personally i think SE is just shooting themselves in the foot. it's a p2p game already, a cash shop should never have even been a thought. even making us buy additional retainers instead of letting us mail items to a mule is ridiculous. does it change the fact that ppl will pay for what should be free content? nope, this will keep happening as long as SE doesn't see a loss in profits due to ppl quitting because of the microtransactions. as for myself i will say that if they do this with triple triad and make cards that are only obtainable through the cash shop, then i will quit because that is the one feature i've been wishing for forever. if they put that behind a cash wall i'm done.
I support the advancement and research of genetically engineered catgirls for domesticated ownership.
