My Problem with RNG (As do we all)

Hi all. Now before I begin I haven't got a single Craft Class to 50 but my highest is a ALC LV46 so I know abit about crafting.

Erm, if you're 46. Couldn't you just have used steady hand+standard touch+standard touch+ great strides+ standard touch? Or some variation of that?

I know I'm just a lvl 27 alchemist. But I am able to go to lower items (5-15) and either not use hasty touch, or just use it at the end to get a boost. I'm sure you can too.
