Hey Op here. First and foremost I would like to repeat that in my post I am primarily trying to state that I believe that Casual and Hardcore should not be locked into the concept of solo and party play (respectively).
I read through most of the post in this thread and I understand many of you and definitely most of the ffxi and ffxiv community love a challenge, this is why many of us loved ffxi and would like to see this in ffxiv. But here is where I will repeat myself, as I do believe the topic has veered off in a controversial direction.
Brief: If SE wants to make a hit game, they need to do things that make peoples life a bit easier and remove the dividing factor, which separates people with a lot of time and little time.
I love playing video games during my 30mins-2hour breaks at school between classes. I'd love!!! To be able to do that with FFXIV and I know many of you would too!
Yes I can log on and do leves for 30minutes then log off and get back to my life and when I have more time do bigger content stuff. But I'd much rather have the convenience of being able to within seconds to minutes, find a group of people and run a mini-instance or party for a little bit of time, as this is much more entertaining and rewarding then solo play.
Many of you are saying that they hated when players left a party after 30mins in FFXI, but this problem can be fixed. Simply with the function of a re-queue and then pop a new member comes in instantly teleported, such seen in many games today such as WOW, Rift, etc.
Wouldn't you much rather instantly pop a new teammate and not waste time. Why crucify someone for only having 30-60minutes to play? Why Must you punish yourself with mindless tedious task such as having to walk to the dungeon, yes of course exploring, but after the 100th time is it not just repetitive mindless routines? A teleport to party location (requiring anima) could fix this problem easily.
Note: once again in no way am I saying I want this game to be like WOW, I play FFXIV because it’s different, I am just saying there are many amazing things wow and other games have done that have forever changed the MMO game and FFXIV can learn from this.
