Hey Op here. First and foremost I would like to repeat that in my post I am primarily trying to state that I believe that Casual and Hardcore should not be locked into the concept of solo and party play (respectively).

I read through most of the post in this thread and I understand many of you and definitely most of the ffxi and ffxiv community love a challenge, this is why many of us loved ffxi and would like to see this in ffxiv. But here is where I will repeat myself, as I do believe the topic has veered off in a controversial direction.

Brief: If SE wants to make a hit game, they need to do things that make peoples life a bit easier and remove the dividing factor, which separates people with a lot of time and little time.

I love playing video games during my 30mins-2hour breaks at school between classes. I'd love!!! To be able to do that with FFXIV and I know many of you would too!

Yes I can log on and do leves for 30minutes then log off and get back to my life and when I have more time do bigger content stuff. But I'd much rather have the convenience of being able to within seconds to minutes, find a group of people and run a mini-instance or party for a little bit of time, as this is much more entertaining and rewarding then solo play.

Many of you are saying that they hated when players left a party after 30mins in FFXI, but this problem can be fixed. Simply with the function of a re-queue and then pop a new member comes in instantly teleported, such seen in many games today such as WOW, Rift, etc.

Wouldn't you much rather instantly pop a new teammate and not waste time. Why crucify someone for only having 30-60minutes to play? Why Must you punish yourself with mindless tedious task such as having to walk to the dungeon, yes of course exploring, but after the 100th time is it not just repetitive mindless routines? A teleport to party location (requiring anima) could fix this problem easily.

Note: once again in no way am I saying I want this game to be like WOW, I play FFXIV because it’s different, I am just saying there are many amazing things wow and other games have done that have forever changed the MMO game and FFXIV can learn from this.

I agree with you're idea. I don't have the time I did when I first started playing this game. But even so I can still manage my time to do 2-3 hr long content (cutting out t.v., browsing the web, forums, facebook).

Right now you've only been stating what you want. If you actually give some ideas and make some suggestions on how you expect party ques and content to work out, then maybe people will listen to you.

Because unless you give a solution to your problem, you're just whining.

It is not my intention to appear as whining and I have given some ideas. It is also not my intention to post to many ideas of course as it would deviate from my central thesis, which is to make the games content accesible towards all types of players with little or much time.

I like though that you ask me for some ideas, so sure I will gladly give you some

    1) Implement a auto-party finder similar to most MMO's now days. Where you Queue up and click off your role (Tank, DD, Healer)
Reason for this: Finding and making a party by your own means can be very time consuming, the old method would instead me done by groups of friends or ls members to make more functional parties.
    2) The party finder should also allow the ability to choose the type of party your looking for: (ALL types, Instance/raid, Grind camp party etc) Then when a group is found you will be prompted and joined together with everyone, then teleported to a general location where you can proceed with what you had planned.

Something on the lines of this. Feel free to discuss, just stay calm. It is a discussion not a war.
I'd love to read your suggestions and ideas as well. Just remember the idea is to remove the division between gameplay(casual vs hardcore), not precisely to create a party search system, but definitely a better party search system will aid this.

thats an entirely valid point to this too

"i only have 30 minutes" means you need to make the best of your time, a game shouldnt have to adapt to players not having time to run 5 minutes somewhere, thats the players responsibility

maybe they should log out where they wanna do something at so they dont have to run?
I think the point the poster is trying to make is that an instant port to said dungeon doesn't hurt anyone, options are a beautiful thing. No one is forcing you to use the feature, but It would be nice to be provided and option to use it if needed.

Because we want a larger player base than FFXI had.

How would you know that if the option isn't presented? Personally I don't want to instaport everywhere, I still run to horizon from Ul'dah even if I have max anima. The fact still remains that options to do more are better than doing less.

Hear hear, I've taken my forum rss feed off my rockmelt sidebar. That's how unimpressed I am with what's left of our community.

I totally agree with the OP, grouping up should flow and the search function shouldn't confuse us at first glance. The more people you have participating in all kinds of events the more vitality you add to your game. The elitist attitude I've seen gain momentum lately has been very disheartening.

we dont need it though, people arent going to look at the game and say "oh look, i can save 5 minutes traveling places cuz i can go straight to a dungeon instead of the crystal which is righty around the corner through the normal teleport means"

thats the problem, we HAVE the tool to get around quick, its our teleport function, we dont need something thatl make getting places even faster
