    The DoH/DoL mdef is an invalid argument, because they aren't in these fights.

    The reason they have such high mdef is so they can survive outside of town with zero VIT from gear. Without it, you would see countless complaints about accidental/purposeful MPK of DoL jobs. Fishing up a peiste map in Mor Dhona, someone rides by on chocobo and aggros an ogre, fireball on me and I'm stuck for 5 seconds putting the rod away, aaaaaaaaaaaand dead.

    "Dead" wouldn't be an accurate descriptor. You have a token amount of VIT.
