White Mage vs Scholar - Why is White Mage lacking?

I think WHM is a great class and works exactly as it should. I think the issue comes from the fact that is quite hard to become a really good WHM, and alot of people just end up thinking that you need to press Cure or Cure II over and over.

Levelled up WHM just to diversify a bit as I had both tanks and DRG at 50. I definitely thought, while leveling up, that WHM is way too easy to play.
