I somehow have serious doubts that you have 60fps with those settings on that GPU.
I somehow have serious doubts that you have 60fps with those settings on that GPU.
and i seriously doubts anyone can get 60fps within the city to start with? so i get about 40-45 in city and 60fps outside. The game is not optimized correctly i knew this from day 1 of beta when ATI card could not even play beta1 till ATI ended up helping SE. So yes i'm playing on high setting with the lag that pretty much anyone gets i talked to players who had 500s and 6000s and they told me they lag just the same.
So i'll end it hereno need to waste 2k on a pc to run FFXIV on high setting when Standard and highest look 100% the same.

You probably won't have 60fps in front of the R45 dungeon either :P
Whereever there's too many polygons those midrange cards give in.
And you think 30+ is lagging? in beta1 the game was set for 30fps then it was unlock FPS which people was complaining and most powerful cards was getting 90-100+fps. But then they ended up locking it at 60fps for whatever reason they wanted. So really 30-60fps is not lagging you start lagging around 25-FPS which i stay up a easy 60fps outside and 40+ in city with the setting i show you.
And let's say the dungeon do for whatever reason put me lower then 30fps i can put it on Standard and it would look the same as highest so what else you have to tell me that i don't know already or you running out of ideas? oh and for the hell of it let's say 2years from now they end up upgrade to DX10 on a pack i can easy get the 560GTX for half of what it is now. Then when they upgrade DX11 in a few more years i can get 660gtx when that come out so at the end what the point of wasting 200$ on a video card what the game look the same on both standard and highest.
and when they do come out with the 600s i can get the most powerful 500s and get x4 and SLI with it and play in 3D with 3 monitor and it wont even cost me as much as getting today.
Your right if you want a more powerful card get the 560GTX but it not like the game look better on highest vs standard and by standard am only talking about drawing quality and background drawing Because even my old 3870 can play on standard and get 60FPS outside and 40fps inside sure it can't play with depth of field or multisampling but it can play on high with texture quality and texture filtering on highest. Even drawing quality and background drawing but like i said what the point of putting both on high if standard is the same?
and am guessing once the core system is fix my 3870 and 450gts would play on even better setting so ya get a 560gtx if you have the money if not then 450/460 would do just fine with the game. that all am saying not saying your wrong just saying that stanard and highest for the two setting i told you mean jack ****

As I thought you're just a troll.
So your last defense is i'm a troll, of course the typical thing to say.Yeah i have to be a troll such a dumb troll that i display my own character and post frequently.
All am saying is you could play the game without issue without wasting money sure if you have the money go for it. But if you trying to build a pc without wasting money then don't no need too they upgrade to dx10/dx11. Sure if you want to play in 3D and 3 tvs and what not then go and waste on x2 560gtx and play on 3D and so on. but i sure wont waste money on any good video card to they fix the core system and see what the best card for the game without wasting big amount of cash.

HP Pavilion H8-1040: Not bad, but that price tag is outrageous for a computer that has a pitiful 5400 RPM hard drive. For that much money they should be giving you an SSD with a 1TB SATA HDD. I would not recommend it. Not to mention the hardware is all outdated: USB 2.0 (3.0 is now available on most MBs), PCIe x16 1.0 (2.0 is the standard), 5400 RPM HDD (7200 is standard and SSDs are the fastest for seek time), plus all the components are probably very generic. Final vote: NO.
CyberPower PC: My friend bought one of these brands, but about a year later I transferred all of his components to a new case that lets the system run much cooler. It doesn't look bad and the components don't look cheap, but the motherboard is a mini, so you'll be very limited when it comes up to future upgrades. The CPU is an AMD Phenom quad core, but the AMD hexacores are extremely cheap, so it's odd that they went with that one. The limiting factor here is the size. Between the small case and limited upgrade room I'd worry about future modification potential and heating issues. Since I like to upgrade video cards and the like, I tend to not like limiting myself with the case or motherboard size. However, if you never do intend on upgrading, this seems pretty decent. Final vote: MAYBE.
Please read this, I'm not sure if it's current but it'll help you select a card that matches the graphics tier you care for:

Don't let anyone tell you a video card (especially anything above the GeForce 250 series) won't run the game. If they do, it's because they want to run everything at 100%, even if it doesn't make a big difference visually. The cost, however, is 2-300 bucks more for that marginal gain. Besides, if they aren't using that card, they really don't know what it can run. Do keep in mind that minimum specs list a GeForce 9600 series card, which is about as crappy a card as anyone might try to sell you anyway.
