Why is tanking so rough for new players?

As a war you have Overpower which is one of the best hate skills you have on a low level. If you loose hate, then either your dps completely outgear you or you don't use Overpower enough.

Most of the time I encounter a tank with hate problems in the lowie dungeons, they just don't use Flash or Overpower as often as they should. Using the skill once in the beginning of the pull and then never again is just not cutting it. As WAR you can also cross-equip Flash if you really want to which gives you an additional tool if you run out of TP. As for PLD...Flash dammit...there is nothing wrong with using it more than once.

If your DPS outgear you and they don't hold back or use Quelling Strike, etc, then let them tank. The only thing that can happen is that they die....

...And if they die its easier for you to hold hate! So win-win imo
