What is the Carpenters Guild Doing in my Waterfall?

It's called Lymlaen's Embrace, it's made by Goldsmith.

Hmm thank you, I will look that up and see if any lore is out there about its origin.

I looked it up on xiv db and the reflection is also in the one in the pics.

Llymlaen [The Navigator] is the guardian deity of Limsa, goddess of navigation and is one of the astrological signs in the game. Aligned with wind lol no clue why that thing is in there though.

I noticed that Oschon, is the patron deity of the miner's guild. If the carpenter's guild has a deity, I wonder if it is Lymlaen?? anyone know?

While I cannot say with absolute certainty, I would assume the guild whose patron deity is Lymlaen would be the Fisherman's Guild.

Ah well things like this make me nuts. This is why the Sightseeing log in the game is one of the most enjoyable things I like to do! I love trying to find hidden clues in the game and this reflection in the fountain is probably just a graphics bug.

Makes sense but I can't find any info on it's patron deity either.

Just checked the one in my FC's house and it's there, so looks like it's tied to the furnishing itself.

This is interesting.
As someone with a degree in game art and knowledge of the creation of art assets for games I can say that real time reflections are scarce in a game or are used sparingly because of the intensity they require on the system (they slow down framerate a lot)
And oftentimes in order to maintain quality without killing frame rate, an artist will take a screenshot of an in game area and use that as a transparent texture to imitate reflections. I'm assuming that since none could be taken of the inside of our houses due to being heavily customized, they reused that image as a reflection for when your in your house. If I had to guess I would say other reflections in our houses would be of the same image, though I can't check myself

It's an odd choice for any who figure it out but any interior building would have done the job.
That is an interesting find and one that I have not noticed.

Ps. I'm sure others have seen this art technique in other games but one example is the reflections of the building in watchdogs. It's just an image of a street but not a real reflection.

Well, I can tell you from experience, if you have a reflective object, like astrolabe and look into it while inside a house, it's just a single floor, no door for the basement and no furniture, at least in a small house, haven't tried it in a bigger one
