Please share your secret in Atma farming for the dummy. And by that, I don't mean the Jap time changing location or w/e it is named.. Either I have the worst of the worst luck or it never is there....

The secret is... that the drop rate was less than 1%. The Server times uped it to around 0.5-1% and the new buff was a x5 to the normal rates. so on the best server time fopr each atma your drop rate is at beast around 5%. It's sad but it's true.
heh, people got what they should have had in 2.3 already. So much crying to nerf the Pharos and now what ? Dungeons with the same coordination needed than the Pharos come, and people start to realize that maybe they have been babysit a little too much on their demandAs I said before, I think the level of incress in dificulty caught many of mid tier players like me off gaurd. The easy content up till now would have place mid-teir and lower mid-teir players in the upper brackets and (In my case for example) over inflated our egos. Till now I considered my self one of the Best Dragoons on Balmung Server. Now the bar has been raised and it turns out, i'm not nearly as good as I thought. This would be shocking as well to any one else that was overly use to the easyness of the content and wasn't expecting REAL dificulty rather than a small change in pace.
The dungeons aren't difficult per say. They just need players to actually do something else than smashing buttons while taking a beer in the fridge.
aaaaand...... no.
Pure RNG knows naught of players' beliefs. The drop rate was around 3-4% considering current droprate which was "a bit more than doubled but less than tripled"
Devs words > players' superstitions
Thanks for the exact numbers. I've had yet to see them acutlly posted any where. All my intell still shows that the average drop rate for any particular atma per fate is less than 10%. So that's still alot of Luck needed. And Range has always been a confusint term to me. That inplys the percentages arn't the same for every one when it's just fighting a percentage. if it's 5% drop than that means only have a 1 out of 20 chance of getting an atma. Since the percentage is constant than 5 out of 100 fates is not true because you can do 1000 fates and neve see a single atma.
And unlike dungeons where something is guranteed to drop, the percentage just determins what, atmas either drop or they don't. There is no alternate loot when atma hunting so it's a 1 in 20 chance that you'll get any thing and a 19 in 20 chance you'll get nothing more than a repair bill for your gear. Atma's have never been magical, the quest has been to find the actual system drop rate so we actually know what numbers we are fighting.
These are not exact numbers per say (hence the range). They are relatively accurate guesses considering the current drop rate observed (around 10% so far in my intell) and the fact that we don't know by how much the devs improved the drop rate. The numbers won't ever be remotely close to accurate until we have tested some 100k fates at least AND until we know by how much the devs improved it ^^Thanks for the exact numbers.
