Ah, I see. There still may be a chance for me yet! But in all seriousness, I think the part that made me sad was when I saw two friends voting, but their votes aren't valid. xD
Correct, only the lowest score gets eliminated. And don't forget, the judges votes aren't added in until the very end (so as to avoid swaying the public vote).
Seems like as good a time as any to explain how that works too!
Judges assign every entry a score from 0-3, with limitations on how many of certain scores can be handed out (so not everyone can be scored 3). This means that every model has the potential for up to a 15 point bump from judges...and as close as those scores are, it's certainly still anyone's game!
Are they invalid for low post count? If so, tell them to go post more! I'll do the final, official tally once the round closes so it'll be their post count at that point that'll determine whether it's valid or not.
Yep, yep. Both of them have low post count. Come to think of it, some of my LS mates mentioned the same thing about not wanting to vote because of low post count. I'll just have to persuade them somehow then. c:<
Honestly without the post count rule, it becomes a bit of a thing where whoever had the most friends willing to make a post voting for them to inflate numbers versus people voting on talent :S
Yeah that's true. All of them just mentioned that they saw the threads. I'm not against the rule because it's fair for everyone.![]()
Yep. Nobody wants this to turn into a popularity contest over a talent contest. Doing that would cause a lot of the really good artists not to even join in and we'd all lose then. Personally, I'd make the minimum post count limit higher if it were up to me, but I have a tendency to be a real stickler sometimes.
.
It's a tricky problem. We understand that naturally, people are going to want to convince their friends to come vote but we don't want the contest to turn from "who has the best screenshot" into "who can convince more of their friends to come vote for them", which is why we have the post count requirement in place. This is also why, as mentioned above, we hold the judge votes from being publicized until the end.
The minimum requirement actually did go up last Cycle as needed. If it seems we need to increase it again this Cycle, the same will happen.Yep. I mentioned it above. I understand why it's there, and I approve of it being there. Sadly, text doesn't convey my sarcasm on the last sentence there very well. It's a tricky problem. I'm gonna go work on the round 2 shot in the meantime~![]()
