If anyone plans to spiritbond in dungeons, they should use DoW/M accessories (and maybe gear) that is level-appropriate for the instance. If anyone wants to spiritbond with crafting/gathering accessories, kill plasmoids or water sprites in the open world. It's called common courtesy, folks! Give it a shot sometimes.

The downside with that idea is that when it comes to duty roulette there's no guarantee which dungeon you'll end up in. You may equip a bunch of level 20 gear and end up in Haukke Manor or worse. I don't imagine your party will be thrilled to see a level 49 tank in Aurum Vale wearing level 20 equips.

I think the main thing that prompted the OP was that there aren't many tanks to go around in low level duties. I know there's a rush for Rogues right now, but there honestly has never been many tanks in the first instance for low level duty. Giving players a bit more reason to run them may entice more tanks and healers to join roulette and alleviate some of the wait time that DPS has to suffer through.

Now, I know you could pick and choose your dungeons but that in itself isn't a great solution. Roulette looks for groups which need a party and pairs you up, meaning if a player actually needs a specific dungeon they might spend forever waiting on it if no one is doing the roulette. By doing roulettes, it encourages more of these characters to be matched with teams and helps reduce the overall wait times.

I personally HATE the whole spirit bonding process now that they've made it so darned annoying. It's small wonder that materia prices almost doubled overnight on my server post-patch. The band of dungeons at which you can actually spiritbond is now frustratingly narrow.

If the scope is spiritbond, there is no need to use roulette. You will wear what you bond, and queue for a duty with level appropriate for your stuff to bond. If you wanna go roulette is because you are on a role with instapop, so it will be instapop even this way.

Want "in need" bonus + bond? Good luck, then, with roulette but don't complain: you got your 5k Gil.

Take different sets with you. Lv25 set, lv 35 set and lv 45 set. The moment you see what dungeon you are in you can change the set you are wearing.

It has to do with the rate of spiritbonding being affected by the difference between the item level of the gear you're spiritbonding and the difficulty level of a mob or dungeon. If the difference is too great, the rate at which you'd spiritbond will be very low.

Personally, I find the spiritbonding process to be better than it was before. Almost all of my high iLv. gear (100+) is completely spiritbonded from clearing many dungeons and raids (Hullbreaker, Snowcloak, Syrcus Tower, SCoB). Before the change, I doubt they would be spiritbonding so quickly. Besides, you get level synched if your level is higher than the max the dungeon allows. Using gear that's too strong for it for spiritbonding is basically moot. Since I'm levelling my DoM classes and make my own gear for them, I manage to spiritbond almost all 12 pieces of gear I've equipped. Basically, if you know how to spiritbond effectively in a dungeon you can do it without causing any grievance towards anyone you get paired up with.
