Lag So Bad Right Now Game is Unplayable

Try moving out of congested areas. I only have these ind of problems in Quarrymill atm.

O and what helped for me. Cleaning some HDD space and enlarging the "virtual RAM" :|

I concur with this hypothesis. There is probably a modest influx of new players who came back exclusively due to Ninja finally being a Job, that some of the servers are starting to feel rather bloaty.

Before Day 1 of 2.4, this kind of lag I'm currently experiencing in the game would only occur if I was simultaneously running Skype and Spotify in the background, and only during primetime. But now I don't run either and I'm getting these lag spikes 20 times worse than normal. Also attributed to the lag spikes is, if/when I get a 90k error or I otherwise try to log into the game past, like, 3PM EST, I usually have to deal with a queue of 15-18 people just to get into my server, which never happened prior to 2.4.

There are two possibilities. The most likely possibility is that there's been a small flood of new players and the servers have not yet normalized or been optimized to handle the increased numbers with the same efficiency. Or, Occam's Razor, Yoshida maliciously yanked out half of each server's ram to make the playerbase suffer.

I'm also experiencing frequent lag spike after day 1 of patch 2.4
Strangely, this lag spike only happens on my main character. My sub character on the same account and same server plays normally.
