Which Company for Which Class Info

Haven't seen it posted so I figured I would post this here to help anyone (mainly new players) decide which company to focus on. The following companies sell weapons for the following classes:

Maelstrom (Limsa Lominsa)
Marauder
Lancer
Thaumaturge

Twin Adder (Gridania)
Pugilist
Conjurer
Mage-oriented shields

Immortal Flames (Ul'dah)
Archer (+Arrow stacks of 999)
Gladiator
Melee-oriented shields

Yes, I'm surprised most weapons are sold in towns other than their guilds myself but it's the fact haha. All the nations have a few pieces of armor as well for each Disciple type. From looking at the stats of the nation specific (Unique/Exclusive) weapons (one at 30 and one at 50) it does appear that the weapons you can buy in the Market Wards/craft yourself are sometimes better for rank 30 and generally not as good as the purchased ones at 50, though not by much (quite literally +1 in some stats on some pieces while larger on others). The purchased weapons do offer some stat bonuses, too. Good gear for being essentially free and easy to get if you're broke! Feel free to add anything you'd like to this.

I'd really like to hear from the Dev team about this itemization. If the only place that offers lancer weapons is LL then that will heavily influence my company choice in that direction. However if other weapons become available at each company in later patches then its less of an issue.

No rush just would like to know before I have to choose a company permanently.

After you get in their ranks from doing the first few quests they offer (the ones un-related to the raids) you can talk to the NPC opposite the one that gave you the quests and that NPC will let you go into the Item purchase area. Weapons are located in the second tab in the shop under the title of Regimental I believe it was. I didn't notice the second tab myself for a while.

Actually you've got it backwards. The U/U gear is marginally better than the crafted gear etc. For example...

I find myself in a bit of a bind. I chose Pugilist as my main class, Lancer as my second, and Ul'dah as my home. XD

Can I at least build up seals from different companies, or am I stuck with one?

Currently you can get the max seals for all 3 cities but in 1.19 you must make a choice.

The same can be said for the level 50 equivalents for Pugilist, and 30/50 of Thaumaturge. So I guess there is some wiggle room (like with your GLA example).

Pretty sure you can build them up for each place right now. But I'd suggest not getting the Pugilist weapons if you have something better already. Have to look into Lancer and see if it's worth your while xD

I was just comparing the r50 stuff in each nation vs the normal stuff you would use (crafted) at r50 on that class.

I think when it comes to the r30 stuff, it varies depending on the item and the player's personal preference (which stats they care more for). ^_^

Well, Archadius, I have to agree with you. I'm re-examining them all and the purchased are better, odd. I could swear it was the other way around in-game when I compared them. Only thing I could say without logging back in and giving another look would be the whole "hidden stats" deal that websites post as they're in the .dats (like magic potency on the PGL weapons). But it could very well be that they are better and I got disoriented with the back-and-forth clicking lol. Thanks for pointing those out though!
