    I like the system, one it makes since, and two makes raise something that is needed in the party. I also prefer this over xp loss like they did in XI.

    Ether make friends with some crafters and repair your stuff for cheap, or try crafting out so you can repair your own gear. The other option I liked was take another set of gear with you.

    Hopefully crafters will take advantage of the need by the dungeons and camp out there doing repairs.

    This is a gold mine. I actually had the fortune of experiencing this earlier, as someone was outside Toto-Rak AFK seeking ARM, BSM and GLD repairs using g3/4/5 Dark Matter. All repairs were set for 4-5k so it was some decent coin (and gave more money than the cost of buying Dark Matter).

    I actually think it's wonderful. For once I'm actually restraining myself from taking on that mob that I know has a good chance of destroying me. It gives a sense of peril, and that is something that the game desperately needs.

    Sure, it sucks loosing 10% durability when I DO kick the bucket, but it doesn't make me rage quit in a huff like experience loss did in FFXI. It just makes me think "well I have to turn down the suck."

    Yessum.. there was one in particular crafter who stood there waiting for anyone.. he should shout out if anyone need repairs (in besaid)

    I think I'd be ok with this if it wasn't so totally punative. Taking gear down to 35% for an unintentional death just isn't right. Maybe a 10-15% reduction for each death. Death is just going to happen in this game, and you won't always be traveling with a mage. Also, there is no reraise as of yet in the game.

    I guess I'm just having trouble with some of the 'all or nothing' changes in this game.

    - MP cost going from ridiculous to ridiculous the other side of the spectrum
    - faction leve rewards Horn and Hand - my god has anyone looked at these? Lanolin, hempen bowstrings, undyed canvas, iron ingot. This faction was nearly non-revalent before. What kind of rewards are these for 100/200/300 faction points? At least before there was occasional opportunity at some nice items like tattered robe and vintage jesters. I understand SE is moving emphasis away from leve's, but instead of this, why not just remove them from the game? This is a joke. Leve NM drop rate is also a joke. I've assisted on roughly 15 of these, and 0/15. That's 600 faction points for a liklihood of nothing. This just isn't right, either, but a whole other discussion, I understand.

    Incidently, I can repair every stitch of my battle gear, but 45K a pop for an accidental death, is still, imo, way too punative.

    Accidental death is when you go AFK in a spot that you thought was safe, but then some goblin or something spawns and wails on your ass while you're getting a drink.

    Going into a hard dungeon, fighting the good fight and taking one for the team or getting wiped as collateral isn't accidental.

    ...Unless you're my LS leader, who somehow manages to die just by moving anywhere near a mob's proximity.

    From my experience, I've only lost 6-7% on a death on each equipped item. You probably suffered wear on your items if you started at 100%. Some people have also been saying that items degrade faster on use now than before.

    I agree with why it was done. Just seems a little harsh for solo players. I have very little time to play, so rarely party. Because i feel it is rude to join a party and then leave 30 minutes or a hour later. So getting raised is not a option for me. Maybe they could reduce the penalty if you are not in a party. Hmm then again that would be hard to make work, because people would just leave the party and then return. Oh well not complaining i will learn to work with it.
