For some, the convenience of the market boards trumps the cost savings of going to the NPC. It really depends on how much you value your time, compared to how much you value your money. That said, you have to have pretty deep pockets and a lot of impatience to overpay by 50k gil deliberately.

For folks like the OP that overpaid by mistake, well, now you know!

I laugh when I sell something on the MB for 500 gil+ when you can buy it from an NPC for less than 10 gil. Free gil!

In this case, and only in this case where both gil values are relatively low, sometimes the extra gil you pay is less than the teleporting costs. I do this all the time. Why spend 584gil (combined, port there prt back) + 10gil on the item when you can buy 1pc on the MB for 450-500.

Would rather keep the little gil I do spend in circulation anyway, because it ALWAYS comes back to me

It not Scamming. This just a case of being dupped before I put in the time to look.

Players were shouting in the other 2 cities (COME GET THEM WHILE THERE CHEAP) also the patch notes DID NOT clearly tell players that the Wedding Outfits were located in Uldal just that New Items were available for purchase.

the best thing you can do is put one up for sale at the same price the NPC sells it for plus the 5% cost to sell it. That way you aren't making a profit by taking advantage of someone and neither are they.

I apologize in advance as I value your input and mean no offense to you personally, but I find this thought process really depressing because it means that people are not being properly educated on the free market system which is a key component of freedom in this world as well as in Eorzea.

Why anybody would take the time to buy something and sell it and not make any profit is beyond me. That is like going to work and not getting paid for the time spent there. Anybody that is successfully selling a product or service to someone else is doing it right otherwise it would not have been bought. People sometimes buy off of impulse (yes unfortunately some regret it later- me included for some things I bought so far this patch), convenience, etc. There are always going to be things on the market board that are more expensive than they are in their respective NPC shops as long as people are buying them.

Sorry but nobody scammed you & nobody was dupped. Anything is worth the price people are willing to pay for it. Anything bought from the market board is done so out of convenience... or you don't have the class, level or skill to craft, gather or otherwise acquire whatever it is you're buying. Caveat emptor.

That's why... always look stuff up before making purchases on the Market Boards. You'd be surprised at all the stuff that can be bought from NPC's at a quarter of the Market Board price.

So wait, these can be sold, just not traded? I've been trying to find out information on them. The problem is, you have to be a level 50 crafter to purchase them.
