2.4 Main Story Revilations *SPOILERS*

• The Immortal Flames had a Mole that gave classified information to the Garleans, Syndicate and maybe was helping the Asceans as well.
• Shiva further muddied the waters between Primals and the likes of Good King Moogle Mog XII. Specially because it was a human that transformed into her (and also because Shiva is derived from a local myth)
• A new emperor has been crowned. Varis zos Galvus. Meaning that Garlemald would continue to focus on Eorzea and they might turn their genocidal ambitions to the spoken races there as well as the Beastmen given the above (and the possibility that they know of the PC helping the beast tribes)
• We are introduced to a new Scion, Moenbryda. She brought White Auracite which can store aether for a limited time.
• The encounter with Lahabrea at the Praetorium has further shed some light on hew we can stop the Asceans, but they would need the Auracite to be able hold aether for a longer time then it can.
• Iceheart utters 3 familiar words, establishing a link to Hydealyn (and a possible explanation as to why Shiva haven't tempered her) and Waxes Lyrical from Awnsers
• She also tells us to watch Midgardsommr's corpse for some reason.
• We find out that The Islands of Baldesion are ripped from reality.
• And finally: Nanamo decided to abdicate/abolish the throne and try to establish a republic.

Now we must speculate on the effects of these Revelations and how they affect Eorzea

A few additions/corrections:

The new Emperor is Varis zos Galvus the grandson of Solus.

Nanamo does not plan to advocate the throne. She plans to abdicate it.

The Island of Baldesion was torn from reality.

Several of Yugiri's ninjas began working alongside the grand companies and actually behave like historical ninja.

Other medical properties of Mun Tuy beans were revealed.

Iceheart also utters: We who walk before can lead those who walk after. A nice allusion to everyone's favorite main theme.

The duty at the very end of the storyline reveals Lady Yugiri's name to be: Yugiri Mistwalker

The conversation suggests that she wants to step away from it all, convinced it is for the greater good. My guess is one of two things would happen. Either Raubhan becomes the first president of the Republic of Ul'dah (or whatever they decide to try to call themselves), or something will happen that will make Nanamo change her mind.

My gut leans more to the former, as it would leave the Grand COmpany sutff unchanged while allowing the immortal flames to attain parity with the maelstrom and the adders. The latter is possible if they decide to turn it into a feel-good story, but the darker tones the story is taking tells me that is unlikely.

I'm expecting the Monetarists to try and seize power as soon as Nanamo steps down or to try and assassinate her before she dissolves the Sultanate. Either way the Monetarists won't take this lying down as dissolving the Sultanate renders both the Syndicate and Monetarist factions obsolete since a new democratic government would replace them.

With regards to the OP:

Iceheart is an Echo user, that much is fairly certain. It's very likely that she experienced an Echo flashback from Midgardsormr that revealed to her the truth of the war and how it all started, which is why she wants us to go to him and receive the same vision.

Not only does she quote Hydaelyn's words but she also references three separate lines from Answers which would mean we may possibly have one of the voices in the song confirmed (as we never knew for certain who was singing).

Urianger makes mention of the fact that Iceheart was likely groomed for her role in summoning Shiva so the Ascians probably gave her the Echo and taught her how to do it.

The biggest reveal this patch was probably Midgardsormr's return though... It's a fairly safe bet now that his resurrection is what will trigger the Dravanian invasion of Ishgard and force them to open their gates for aid.
