There is a difference between distinction and discrimination.

But I'll throw a bone, I'm not lily white - we live in a world that teaches to make distinctions but also told not to. Its a fine line, but as a fact of words - we are indeed meeting the definition by making special requests specially because the current armor can be a female armor and the request for change is pretty much a gaming sterotype.

Yes but in this context discrimination has the connotation of the negative. To discriminate by race or gender is to suggest that one SHOULD be represented or treated differently. Nobody is saying that women SHOULD look sexy here, people are saying that they WANT to look sexy.

By requesting distinction I mean that I want to be able to identify my character as female. Men and women typically look outwardly different from each other, therefore there is a distinction to be made.

I think that the tank soldiery was a great example. I don't exactly want a burly man chest on my female lalafell or miqo'te.


Some women, or people playing female characters like to wear clothing that accentuates and flatters their body types. We're not asking for boob armor or pasties. Regardless of whether or not its a video game, it's a matter of wanting to look female and being happy looking female.

I disagree that it is not at least more sexist leaning to request the change vs leave as be (not your point I think but it was the point I began in this thread), I do however want to say that we under diagnose the word and that we should own up to our notions of what is what. Like I see a few times in your post that the strength that men are attributed doesn't really fit to women, but why? I've seen quite a number of six packed women (gym yay) - a woman could absolutely wear the armor on the front page and I don't think it has a particular gender attributed to it. You're not evil, neither is the OP.
