Goblins and Qiqirn (And other Beast Tribes)

I've always wanted to know about these two particular Beast Tribes (if they even have an organized tribe system, at that). Why are they found almost all around Eorzea, but we know so little about them?

    Here's what we do know:
    • They're pretty much the most widespread, being found in Thanalan, La Noscea, and the Black Shroud pretty equally. They're like the Hyur of the Beast Tribes.
    • They also seem to be the most accepted by the "Enlightened" races, being found in towns more so than the other Beast Tribes. One goblin, Brayflox, is even part of the Company of Heroes and defeated Titan! I'd like to know more about how she met them and became part of that Company!
    • Yet, despite being somewhat more accepted, they are still treated as rabble and brigands by the general Eorzean populace.
    • There's a goblin Illuminati group that Mutamix used to be a part of and Brayflox stole the secret cheese recipe from them.

Do the Goblins and Qiqirn have a native homeland? Will we ever get Beast Tribe quests revolving around them? Do they have their own Primals?

Side note - what's the deal with Mamool Ja, anyway? What's their relation to the Amal'jaa? I know they're not natives to La Noscea, but that's mostly where they're found.

...Are there other Beastman tribes I'm missing? Giants? Are Spriggans considered beastmen?

Mamool Ja are from the a different continent, they are not related to Amalj'aa. They're hired mercenaries, they're a new face to 2.0. Goblins are tinkerers and traders/merchants. They were welcomed before because they could provide things to the City-States they would normally never have, gears for example are tied into Goblins. When the Garleans invaded they began spreading propaganda against the beast tribes. Ul'dah kicked the Goblins out of the city, only Limsa Lominsa didn't shut them out completely. Their Goblin Pilgrimage (every 100 years) takes them across the 3 Great Continents, they probably pick up quite a few new things in their travels so they'd bring that back to Eorzea.

As for Qiqrin if I remember right they were mostly in La Noscea and the Black Shroud in 1.0, Shroud having lvl 99 ones. So I'm not too sure what would have made them move to Thanalan.

Will be interesting to see if there's ever an explanation for where the Mamool Ja came from in FFXIV. In FFXI they were one of the beast tribes native to the Aht Urhgan continent east of the original/Zilart/Promathia areas (Mindartia and Quon). They're fairly lizard-like... Perhaps they relocated to La Noscea from wherever they were originally due to climate shifts caused by Bahamut? I didn't play 1.0, but screenshots I've seen show Coerthas as having a lot of grass and evergreen trees, instead of the frozen wasteland it is in 2.x.

The Mamool Jaa basically couldn't be bothered to go home. There were all those wonderful girls around just waiting to have the sacred bathing dance shared with them.

The Qiqrin are stated to have been merchants (and you see them still be merchants in La Noscean areas) but they were affected by the Garlean public relations machine. So they got kicked out of Ul'dah (where they became "thieves" though they have money (because no one will take their money)). I can only guess that they've only got a small presence in the Black Shroud because they're also small-time poachers, especially of eggs. Qiqrin love eggs and probably aren't rats.

Goblins, of course, are nomadic tinkerers with a passion for the three greats: 1) free trade, no matter how dangerous, illegal or possibly explosive the item, money, or purchaser may be, 2) the culinary arts, and, of course, 3) cybersteampunk.

But my main question about Goblins and Qiqirn and all the rest of the "minor" beast tribes - do you think they'll get primals and Beast Tribe quests associated with them?

I'd don't know whether we will see primals/beast tribe quest for them, but I do hope so. Especially the Qiqrin, because I find them amusing.

Koji was asked this in the gamer escape interview vegas lore panel. He said that 'just because they don't talk about it doesn't mean they don't have them' and that 'he couldn't say anything more, but to 'please look forward to it'. "
'it's not that they don't worship primals, we just don't know... or maybe some of us do know, and just can't say."

    Thanks!!

So let's speculate: what could the Primals of the Goblins, Qiqirn, and Mamool Ja be? What about giants/gigas? Maybe even Spriggans, if they count as beastmen? (What else am I missing...?)

Some people thought that Shiva was the Primal of the giants/gigas a few months back.

I don't think the Goblins' is a "Goblin King" or anything. We already have King Mog - any more kings would be repetitive. I think the reason why we haven't seen/heard about the Goblin Primal is that the Goblins seem to be a pretty secular race, and their Primal only makes themselves known in times of true peril for the Goblins.

The Qiqirn Primal could probably be the Shiniest of All Shinies :P

People thought about Gigas worshipping Shiva for a few reasons, including because the boss room in Copperbell is named "The Cold Throne" and the fact they're also in Coerthas. However they said Shiva was to be summoned by a beasttribe we've never seen before. Then said "did I really say that?". Then, well. We'll see today!

And the Goblins primal is obviously The Mighty Cheese.

I guess Shiva was not summoned by "a beast tribe we've never seen before." She is just a saint from Dravanian history!

Still, I'm curious - do some other creatures we have seen count as Beastmen? I keep bringing up the Spriggans because they are capable of speech.

The gigas/giants have been speculated by some to be Allagan experiments, according to a thread I read here a little while ago. I like that idea.
