    When I started 2.0 Bard, I had 3 macros - 2 putting bloodletter and misery's end in front of Straight and Heavy Shots, and one with all the buffs in one macro. After a while I dropped the bloodletter from the macro to get used to triggering it manually when it procced but kept misery's cause it only affected the last 20%. After reading threads on here and reddit about the effect of macros substantially lowering DPS due to reduced efficency of GCD, I dropped the 2 macros altogether. I then rearranged by hotbars (controller user) and set my buffs separately as well. Since then my DPS has improved SO much and I can respond to changes in battle phase much better.

    Basically those macros were like training wheels. When you know how to ride, you remove them. The two you use are so enormously inefficent, I can't even ....

    that's too many more buttons to map if u don't macro the attacks. keep it simple and use macros so that u only attack with 3 sets of 1-4 buttons

    If you REALLY need to do something like that, the appropriate way to do it is something like this:

    (For GCD skills)
    /macroicon <skill>
    /ac <skill>
    /hotbar copy NIN 3 NIN 1

    (For Non-GCD skills)
    /macroicon <skill>
    /ac <skill>
    /hotbar copy NIN 4 NIN 1

    Then you put your rotation skills on hotbar 3, and your off-GCDs on hotbar 4 and make sure these aren't shared in the settings. You should also put a macro that returns you to hotbar 3 in the first slot of 4, for when you decide you don't have anything off-GCD to do right now. Use Hotbar 2 for situationals that you may want to cast at any point. It's still a large number of macros, but it will keep your most common skills at your fingertips once you get used to your buttons doing different things at different times while forcing you to ACTUALLY learn your class.

    You should try to use a MMO gaming mouse. I personally use a logitech G600, but any with at least a third button will help. Use modifer keys, and key those skills manually. My mouse has 15 buttons + 1 modifier key.
    On top of that, i use a Razer Ansasii keyboard. More modifier keys, w/ macro keys

    Ex: monk gcd w/o GL stacks is approx 2.42 secs. With = 2.06 secs. You try to macro skills as a monk, then you will lose out on DPS.
    Not trying to tell you how to play, just giving options.

    Also, i place similar/same abilities in the same spot across jobs. Makes it easier, muscle memory wise, to execute abilities.

    A gaming mice with 12 buttons on the side makes life so much easier. I don't think I'd be able to go back to having to press the keyboard numbers ;_;
