    I thought it's also been stated in many games that chocobos do not have the capability of flight.

    I mean... dem wings....
    Black Chocobo's, in a couple of games, had the ability to fly. FF IV and V being standout examples.

    Yeah but wasn't that only over short distances (like gliding) and only to specific points?

    Just like in FFVII black and gold.

    Traditionally, Black/Gold Chocobos can only lift off from and land in forests.

    But I am genuinely looking forward to getting my own airship!
