To access the beans (vanity stuff), vegetarians had to pay for the meat (subscription) anyways. Now they have to pay for the meat plus for the beans too. They cannot buy just the beans, because without paying for meat they would not let them to the restaurant.

oh! I was viewing the "Meat" as content to be completed. Time farming primals and such. you know, Time that not everyone wants to spend, or cannot spend, such as vegetariians and meat.

This also makes sense, as "Vegetarians" are in the real world more upscale citizens, with more cash to burn to suit their more specific diet. so it makes sense to make beans an upcharge, available as a separate meal, since the target demographic has money to spend for it.
