24h maintenance and gardens

Poll your FC to see who will be on close to the start of maintenance and charge them with watering the plants. If it's your Personal House see if you can find a friend/FC mate who will be on and can water your plants for you. Seems like great idea now that they allow random people to water gardens lol

Here is how it works. After 24 hours of not tending your plants they turn purple. After 48 hours of not tending them they die. So yes when you log in they will be purple for sure. If you tend them right away they will be fine after.

Do you know for a fact it's 48h? Has this happened to you?

Chocobo fruits are on an 18 + 6 hour timer.

It's definitely not a flat 24h until the plants turn purple. I've had plants turn purple as early as 12h, and others not turn purple even after 30 hours of not tending (and I check the logs, nobody's ninja tending them). I believe it has to do with how often you fertilize them, and that fertilizing them not only speeds their growth by one hour, but speeds them towards needing tending by one hour as well. I've also noticed certain plants seem to go purple faster than others - I'll tend and fertilize my 8 plants in my glazenut/jute patches all together, but the jute and glazenuts seem to go purple at a much faster rate than the regular plants right next to them. Quite frankly, I am worried too about an entire 24h downtime where I can't tend them. I'm a bit OCD about my gardens and have never had a plant die on me, and would lose millions if one of my gardens croaked.

Garden does not die with first period of 24 hours of not watering. The plants look stinky purple. They die if it happens more than a few times per plant or a long period of time after it has appeared. All is good with the plantworld~~ Rejoice!

The time of announcement until the release date is longer than 10 days so it's no excuse. Onions should have been planted days ago*so they would be ready to be harvested by Saturday or Sunday. That's what I did. The problem is that people don't think ahead and plan things anymore. Only an idiot would go "well a 24 hour maintenance is coming up in a couple days, better plant onions."

My garden will be harvest able in like 2 days then I was planning to plant 8 onions. But yea now I have to wait and plant nothing because I don't want the slight possibility of 8m going down the drain because they die because I can't get on cause they keep having maintenance or something.
