~Quit moping, get hoping~
Ruby came to keep me company while waiting for Duty Finder (as a tank!" What madness is this?). First time I'd looked closely at a carbuncle. Damn they're twitchy.
I completely forgot about that (probably because I failed that fight a couple of times due to not untying him).
As for the twins, despite me naming it as a possibility I somewhat doubt they are scholar too.
The main reason for this is the lore. In both the SMN and SCH quest lines you are working on reviving a lost art. Most other job have someone teaching you their art, but SMN and SCH have you grasping at theories and you happen to get good results. Not to mention that in the SCH quest line it actually seems like the fairy is helping you learn new things.
Now considering who their grandfather was it is of course entirely possible that they were raised with knowledge that the rest of Eorzea doesn't have (I'm sure the circle of knowing knows lots of interesting stuff), and they indeed could be SMN or SCH, but with the lore in mind I do expect them to be arcanists in the end.
They are, haha.
I whished my carbuncle would sit like that when inactive. Poor thing was on battle standby 100% of its time. (Relax, that levemete is not going to attack us)

Ha I just figured when I saw it that a Summoner unequipped their job stone and summoned as Arcanist and positioned it. I have display/pet names turned off so no reason to note the absence of a name on this one. I wonder how many of my ACN/SMN friends I can convince to leave an Emerald Carbuncle out next time they go afk in Mor Dhona just to screw with people.
Unless they changed it, ours don't sit though. They remain standing, looking as if they are ready to tackle the next person that walks by.
I had to bump this thread because I have also come across this glorious creature in the most peculiar place

That's awesome. I didn't even know Ruby popped up there.
It has been some while, but I foundRuby doing something I hadn't seen before: it was walking around the marketplace, sniffing at the ground.
It made a full round of the marketplace, then walked towards the 'no entry' door to the west of the House of Splendours and vanished.
