    2. Chocobos, and until they get released I would like the speed of all characters to be about double what they are now because of lack of those damned mutated Yoshis.
    3. Classic Job names. As much as I love my THM and having the ability to create a crater as if I was a God damned Super Sayjain, I'd like to be a Black Mage that can make craters just as big.
    4. SP balance. That one guy getting 1000 SP in one kill made me want to go through my monitor with a sledgehammer.
    5. Fatigue system revamp. I do not enjoy getting 28SP at level 30, and not wanting to touch the other God damned classes. I'll say it again, NO I DO NOT WANT TO LEVEL GLADIATOR.
    6. Invisible stats made visible. I'd like to know what those EFFing stars mean, and what the hell the food I eat actually does.
    7. Crafting. The minigame needs a DDR pad so I can dance while crafting. Otherwise, nerf the curve.
    8. Replace Crafting with Gathering and see #7.
    9. Jetpacks. They're bitching.
    10. Behest MUCH bigger. I want to see a God damned 200 man Behest fighting 2000 monsters. Imagine the SP gain, imagine the monster corpses, and imagine the lack of coordination. Moreover, make parties bigger than 15, 15 is a crappy number. A reasonable number is 50. Or 100. I would love to see a 100 man group take on a NM and watch them get completely obliterated and NOT be because it's broken.

This looks like a fun thread. Wish I wasn't so late to the party >.> here are my 10.

    1. Battle system--but really the entire UI. I logged into FFXI for 15 minutes two months ago, and I still can't stop thinking about how responsive the menus and inputs were. Switching gear, opening menus, selecting targets...You hit the key, and the game reacts.
To me, FFXIV's UI feels like I'm doing everything under water. You could run 20 feet easily, but XIV makes me think of running through water. Everything is just so...delayed- like the menu is trying to catch up with me.

    2. The damage & resistance formula needs to go. I've fought NMs with 80 PIE, and again with 202 PIE. There was no freaking difference. My resist rates are the same, and it's no different with other stats right now. A XYZ50 that can keep hate is only very slightly less of a tank than a R50 GLA, because the damage you take is almost entirely based on the enemy's rank vs. your rank. Please, make the stats matter.

    3. HQ Equipment's stats should be better than NQ. Yeah, you get some extra defense--which is irrelevant since damage is based more on your rank. My issue is that a Cowl will give you MND+4, and a Cowl +3 still only gives MND+4.

    4. PvE dungeon. Sometime in Spring they say...I'm very eager.

    5. Camp&Pull EXP Parties. This requires enough mobs in one place to grind on, and it's gotta be better SP---and more fun---than guildleves. I'd like leves to be an option for solo players, or slower SP than grinding...partying with people outside my linkshell is part of what makes an MMO fun to me.

    6. Mog House & Mailing system. I honestly never furnished my mog house in XI until about a year ago, but more and more, stuff like that just feels like it'd help. There's a post in the French forums talking about the little things that go a long way--this video was used as an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iesY1XssACM.

    7. Chocobo & Airships. Even if they remove anima completely. I don't need the instant gratification, really. Traveling in XI felt like traveling. Traveling in XIV feels like skipping the world---I hope that makes sense.

    8. Beastmen tribes. Hopefully work them into the story, or sidequests, and/or some kind of raid event. Give them a purpose beyond SP.

    9. Rework the world map. It's been mentioned by Yoshida himself, and I really hope they make drastic changes. It's very cool to see a tree that glows at night. It's not cool to see it in 61 other places in the same zone. Every 400 yalms in The Black Shroud, you have the option of climbing the same ramp, OR going through the same tunnel. The world map should have unique, "special" (if you will) places. South Forest vs. North Forest vs. East Forest---there's so much room to play God with. Create something awesome!

    10. MONEY SINK. Give us something to spend our millions on! I don't care if it's a relic weapon that'll take me 5 years to complete, or if it's a whole boatload of new crafting stuff, or equipment, or anything else. I want to spend my money, and I want it to improve my character. Give me something to work towards.

I tried to put stuff in order of necessity; adding a raid dungeon tomorrow does little for me because the UI is slow-to-respond and my stats don't matter at all, etc.

Right now, buying a Jade Crook +3, capping my piety, adding piety conversion traits and piety+ gear gets me nowhere. I'll still land 60-80% of my spells on NMs, just like I would with an NQ Jade Crook and 80 PIE. This makes me cry on a daily basis, and I hate crying.

Yes, I want a game very much like FFXI.
No, I don't want to play FFXI.
Yes, this is possible. You're welcome.

There's a lot that (I felt) XI got right. It was created 10 years ago, so some change is inevitable as far as mechanics go, but XI's world was SO Final Fantasy.

-Weekly conquest updates to reflect the state of the world's order.
-Story quests/missions revolving around a great war in the world's past---giving beastmen a history, purpose, and some character.
-Chocobos, Airships, teleport SPELLS---all Final Fantasy staples. I know a lot of people love--and rely on--their anima, but this is me letting my pent up wants out, and I want to feel like I'm a part of the world. Every time I teleport I feel like I've used a ghost camera console command and skipped a part of the game. Yes, it beats running. But nothing would make me happier than to lose teleports for chocoships.
-Mog House. I don't care anymore, I freaking miss it. I neglected it for years, but if I could design a little house/room right now where my mail arrives, my storage is accessible, and my accessories are in XIV's graphics, I'd be at it for days.

If I wanted to play XI I could log in right now and play. What I want is to feel like I'm playing a Final Fantasy game in XIV. Personally, I do believe that it can get to that level (for me) with this development team.

Sorry this is so damned long and ranty. I'm up very late and have had too much caffeine. I've forgotten half of the points I wanted to make and overexplained the ones I did make >.> but that's what editing's for---after sleep!

Salutations Eorzians, I am new to these forums, but top ten lists always get my attention,
    thusly, here is my contribution:

    10. Failed Local leves are not canceled- If I waste a clients time and materials due to my own overconfidence, I should not simply be let off the hook so easily! I would have to return and face him in person, and feebly try to apologize, as their entire being fills with rage. Then, it would be all that I could do to sit back, and watch, as he unleash unto me, a weapon skill so fierce, so overwhelming, that my deity himself has to look away for a moment. Then I must simply return, broken bodied, to an aetheryte, whilst my fellow adventurers laugh at my failure as a crafter, failure as a man..
    9. Travel options while tripling teleport costs- teleporting is great, and I agree casual players can't be bothered with peasant means of transportation in their precious limited time. But as it stands, If I have to go somewhere further than a three minute trek, I will simply teleport,. Traveling can be fun and a journey in itself, but it's the kind of thing you need to be forced into doing in order to enjoy it. Also, if teleporting were more anima expensive, people would be more inclined to enjoy the group teleport system, and more opportunities to meet new friendly faces, and alternatively, to whore their anima for cash money should they fall on hard times.
    8. Unique class abilities with about a thirty minute cool-down- These also change automatically and don't interfere with class point allotment. Thus your class stands out a little more, but is still your creation.
    7. Something to spend my gilz on- I have far more than I know what to do with as it stands, and I play very casually. I miss the feeling of excitement and joy I'd get in XI after I got a sweet NM drop, or a good BCNM run. it is one like no other!
    6. Similarly, more options for guild marks for DoW/DoM classes- I'm so thirsty for those points on crafting classes, but for battle class it is a "meh" feeling
    5. Two-Handed weapons take 2x the stamina to swing, and deal 2x the damage- This is a simple one, but would take some tweaking on the tp move aspect most likely. However! It would make some of the class moves (raging strike, bloodbath, feint, etc) more fitting and beneficial for their respective talents, and the classes would feel very different, where in actuality, little has changed and the core remains. Battle would feel slow for those big weapon wielders, but that's what you signed up for (DRK!?). Eventually they would all accept their fate, and learn to love their big #'s.
    4. Super Attack!?- if I space out in battle (like seems to happen) and find myself with max tp/stamina, I want to use it! Give each class a unique ability that changes automatically upon switching, prolly bar three material, since it's highly inefficient to use a lot. Dishing this bad boy out would use all tp, ~200 mps(maybe cost hp based on class) and about 75% of the stamina bar, and it would have to look completely gaudy like it was ripped from DBZ.
    3. Mail System- I love alts-mules-slaves-etc. After years of playing an MMO they each begin to develop their own personalities. The retainer does a great job on most of those fronts, however with the economy mostly centralized in one city, one humid sand blasted city, it is all but impossible to find what you need, if you are like me and you love Gridania. It would then serve greatly to have eyes and hands in many areas, and be able to score any gear you need (w/o having to tp to Uldah), or pick up and send an item to a friend/LS mate, or to receive them .
    2. Fame System!- be it city by city or by aligning yourself further with the certain factions. Player growth speaks of more than strength alone, or being skilled at a trade. Tying quests into fame would be welcome as well. As much as I enjoy material possessions, I am devious, and I enjoy having ulterior motives!
    1. Fake Moustaches- bam, there it is. whuaaatt {Psych moment)

this got long fast.. I apologize! I've enjoyed FXIV since day uno, but there will always be room to build. great simple idea for a thread, cant believe it was almost on page two

1: One left button click on all in world interactions (specifically Atheryte Crystals)
    2: Companies implemented.
3: Large scale PVE Content. (Hamlet defense)
    4: Chocobo's implemented.
5: More quest content (Storyline, NPC and Leve's with cutscenes on npc quests lets say 50% of total to have them)
6: Repeat button for all Synth recipes
7: Extra Weapons/Armor (Complete gear sets)
    8: More Roaming NM's
9: A look at all zones on the maps, maybe add a couple of changes to each to lessen the copy pasta effect.
    10: Open up Ishguard.

    1) Content (quests, missions, dungeons) (though I fully understand they need to have the basic features worked out first)

    2) UI and controls, let us choose whether we want a console or a regular PC MMO layout through the config, especially the hotbar setup is my main concern.
Changing the mouse to function as what have become the standard control scheme in MMOs would go a long way to getting more (westeners) to play the game (once content has been added). I have friends that would like to play but can not get past the control scheme, sadly.

    3) Job profiles, kind of goes with number 2. Change the hotbar abilities based on the current job. Forcing the players to rebuild their hotbars every time they change jobs should not happen. (Yes we can use macros to accomplish this, but it should not be an issue in the first place, this is just bad design)

    4) Transportation ie airships and chocobos, preferably as personal mounts we can call on whenever. Would love to see them revisit the chocobo breeding of FFXI but with a XIV twist.

    5) Job uniqueness. Add some skills/abilities/spells to each job that can not be shared that really make them stand out.

    6) Housing, whether an actual house in an instanced area or an appartment like in XI, with usable furnishing.

    7) Equipment with rank and job requirements to help differentiate jobs and have something look forward to and work towards getting.

    8) Redesign maps, especially Gridania.

    9) Skill/spell animations, make them more elaborate, right now the are rather dull compared to XI.

    10) AH

Honorable mention, add some life to the world, where are the birds, butterflies and small insects. NPCs going about their daily life, moving about instead of just standing in the same spot they always do.

    in no order..

1.) Fix the UI delay on EVERYTHING.

2.) Change the zones breaking the current zones into different zones.( Than doesnt need to be one huge freaking zone. same for all areas. break them up into different lanscapes, weather, mobs and NAMES, not just north, south, east, west blaa blaa)

3.) Change Class names. I want my pug to be a F'n MONK and I want my THM to be a REd Mage. k? thx

4.) ADD THF... are u serious SE no THF? really? thats enough to make some people not play right there. again are u serious SE the sword and board class are the dagger users? really?

5.) Make stats matter. isnt that what gear and everyhting is for? when I do 40 leves I tank on my pug with nothing but weapon and boots. why? because I can. because STATS DONT MATTER.

6.) Make AoE spells cost way MORE mana than single target. and make it draw huge amounts of eminity. I'm tired of seeing everyone spam aoe heals with no skill. ( in 11 you cast Curaga at the start of fight your dead period)

7.) Make anima regenerate slower AND cost x2 or x3 as much to teleport. SE you have this world and guess what? noone sees it except to get the crystal ( if they dont get a friend or ls member to port them) hopefully when airships and chocobos are added the anima and teleport system will be gone becasue if not there will be NO reason to really use chocobos or airships.

    8.) DEATH PENALTY............................. DEATH PENALTY

9.) /sea function, comment in search, able to kick anyone you want from LS no matter wehre they at. able to invite people while IN combat, able to kick people while IN combat, able to get SP no matter where the leader is. able to get SP from both your targeted mob and the mob that agro'd you( 11 claim system went back and forth between all mobs u was fighting and you got full exp) dont penalize me if im duo'ing with a buddy and im killing one and he's killing one.

10.) Then and only then after all that is needed fixed with this game then you can add some content. adding Content before then will just lead to even more broke shit in this game.

Not necessarily in order with exception of Optimization.
    1. Optimization (Resolution of crashing)
    2. Implementation of real end game content
    3. Fixing Claim issues where SP is given when engaged to more then one group
    4. Equalization of gear degradation (Like rings not degrading at same rate)
    5. Reduction/Normalization of SP curve
    6. Make classes more unique/ Less cross class abilities
    7. Increased impact of stats
    8. More story interaction since some of the story aspects are left unfinished
    9. More lore aspects outside of main hubs
    10. Moving mob location so that leves are not thwarted because of unrelated mob aggro

I can't seem to get the img tag to work. I have a chart that consolidates everyone's top 3. Anyone know how to get the img tag to work (does it work?)
