It's strange to read the conceptions the people who don't run Coil or haven't completed Coil have on the people who do run Coil and have completed it. All Coil runners seem to be elitist a**h**es who run Coil every day for at least 8 hours and spend the rest of their day looking down on everyone else, doing their best to actively not help anyone.

Our FC of 30 members has 3 different Coil 2 groups. One of them is our oldest endgame group that has run since launch. The two others are newer groups and have been running since the start of September. All groups run up to 5 hours a week, split on two days. One of the groups has whole Coil 2 on farm, one is currently learning T9 and the last is currently learning T8 (in last phase). I'd hardly call that "devoting your life" to the game.

These are actual facts and experiences on what it takes to progress in Coil. You don't need to be an "elitist". You don't need to be an a**h**e. You don't need to play many hours a day (or even a week). You just need to find a group that shares your goals and (possibly varying) play times and be motivated to learn the fights.

    Do give it some thought.
What does come to mind is how you're avoiding my original question. I'm not even trying to separate Raiders and casual players here. Its all about your kind of attitude that's got alot of us pissed off in the first place.

I gave you an answer; you just didn't like it. You do know that my first post was lampooning what Metatronn said, right?

What Answer? I asked if you understood why people on this thread were being called Elitists, and you responded by looking down at me and claiming how I was 'insufferable' and 'nobody wanted to play with me.'

I was addressing your reasons, and extrapolating from there.

I'm not looking down on you; I'm looking at you. We're down here together in the mud, you see?

    Now, give me a kiss.

The funny thing is though that although the devs apparently have the intention to ease up on coil's difficulty, it by no means sounds like it's going to be made as easy as e.g. crystal tower. People may still very well be needing to rely on static groups in order to truly progress through a story mode coil. If the difficulty level will be reduced to the level of ease of e.g. extreme primals then simply pugging it won't cut it.

In that sense I wouldn't be surprised to see quite a bit of dissapointment arise once story modes actually hit.

They might not have the time to sacrifice every afternoon to practicing coil. Or they might not have a static they can get into. Or they might not have the "skill" you say they might not have.

They want to enjoy the story behind it. Not get the gear. Not to say, "I actually beat the hard content". They just want to enjoy the story of this game and the biggest part of the story is a continuation of 1.0 and that is in Coil. What's so wrong with that?

I've beaten turn 6-8 but I don't have a static anymore, and before I didn't have the time to dedicate because of my school/work schedule. That doesn't mean I can't handle it. It's the way the system is. You either get in a static since it's 8 man onry progression, or you don't go at all.

So glad they are letting people who beat it go back in so Free Company's aren't divided into individual 8 man parties.

I hope they don't do this. Raid finder killed wow for me. It took all the fun out of unlocking the raid content by giving away free cool looking gear and made unlocking the story at less fun by providing immediate gratification. I really enjoy raid content more when you slowly unlock the story by slowly clearing all the enemy bosses. Sure, you could argue that I could just shouldn't do the easy version but, as long as it provides upgraded gear pretty much everyone will do it first. Because of that, the raid story will be trivialized since I just saw it on easy mode. I'd prefer they're current plan of making the story accessible to all once expansion gets released and I hope they continue this theme.
