I pay my sub to access the MMORPG, the whole MMORPG. I obviously understand that I'll need to pay for expansions, I can even accept stuff like fantasia's and server changes costing money. I'm fairly flexible on the whole thing really.

But stuff like Sleipnir being sold for cash bothers me, it's to far. It makes me wonder what might be cut from the expansion so that it can be thrown in the cash shop.

Sorry, but can you reference your source from SE on your sub guaranteeing you access to ALL content? Technically, at least form looking at MY version of the Terms and conditions (the one that appears on a fresh install of ffxiv) the sub only pays for a renewal of your license to access the original patch 2.0 content servers. Technically, SE is perfectly within its rights to make you pay additionally for every single patch after 2.0, including bug fixes. they don't, because they seem to be relatively customer friendly. Your sub doesn't reserve you any of those rights.

Maybe you have a different version of the T&C, though, so please source.

Should actually read those T&C you agreed to. Not a fan of the cash shop myself but I'm also not gonna scream bloody murder over it.

Hmm maybe my original post was unclear, I never said I had a right to anything from SE .
The way I view it currently is that I currently pay my sub to access the whole MMORPG, if I will no longer be getting access to the whole game then obviously it makes sense to reevaluate whether my sub is worth the money I pay for it.

My sub doesn't give me any special rights, but likewise SE doesn't have any automatic right to my money.

If that's what you assumed you were paying your sub for, then you either did not read the terms before you agreed to them, or self-deluded yourself otherwise. In the real world, you never paid a sub for the WHOLE mmo, and SE was highly explicit that you were not paying for the whole mmo.

Seriously, though, do people just not read their terms and conditions before blindly hitting the "I agree" button?

Pretty much. People don't read things before agreeing, then place the blame elsewhere when things aren't as they assumed that they would be. The sad part is, it happens in real life situations pretty often too.
