I did read it, and although it doesn't say that se can have your money if you cancel, it also says that it will only grant access to the services and features of ffxiv if you do have a subscription. so if you cancel, they stop taking your money, and they stop needing to devote resources to providing your gameplay experience. a good trade off. It's nothing to do with the terms and conditions or with what I assumed the case to be. I bought the game and subscribed shortly after patch 2.1, since then everything that has been added to the game has been included in my subscription. With this announcement that will obviously no longer be the case, I'll wait to see how it works out but I'm not happy with a cash shop at all.
In the real world if a service changes in a way you're not happy with you stop using it.
I suspect you're not really interested in all that though, seeing as you keep talking about the frankly irrelevant terms and conditions.
You read the whole thing did you? Good for you. Tell me, was there anything in it that said SE can have my money even if I cancel my subscription?
I'm not fully disagreeing with you. Things available in the cash shop should be available in game, whether via trade to win (buy in cash shop then sell in MB) or as actual drops. Personally, I would prefer the non "Green gil" format, but the point stands.
I just take issue with the feelings of entitlement that seem to come with paying a subscription. You ask a business to treat you better than they are legally contracted to, but since it is a business, money is the only king here.
