How am I meant to level with a friend now?

but it had more players and every server was literally full. Almost everyone was put into a queue for logging in. Figaro, on release day, had around 3k players at my time of login. This isn't counting how many were still in queue, or waiting on the Standard edition. Also, to use your argument against you, FFXi sucks more now than it did 3 years ago. =)

I don't care how many subs XI has. It has enough to get updated and stay online - that is all that matters. It certainly isn't in such dire condition the devs are afraid to charge for it.

What I care about is whether the game is fun. The game is more fun to me now than it ever was before. I don't care if it has more or less subs.

Back then there were very few mmos in the market. Sorry man, things change. And I am sorry, but if you can't understand that a decade old game will lose subs just because of fatigue, and dated graphics, not to mention people getting interested in new games, etc... well, you don't understand what rationality and logic is.

Because level grinding isn't the fun part of games.... maybe playing XIV has made you forget that? I dunno man. But I have fun killing big bosses with my friends and working on my magian axes and soloing /duoing NMs

I have fun making progress in a game and slowly knocking out content like "big bosses", raids, events, and more. But i can see you just like to have a max leveled geared character handed to you; are you a terrible person for likeing your games like this? no, but i blame Americans free hand out culture on this one.

MMORPG's are all about progression, exploration, grinding, and fun content along the way to break up the monotone of grinding. Not free hand outs to end game content where you just then grind that same end game content...
