Here's what I would do if I wasn't an archer: step back and heal MYSELF quick, then go back in for more action. I really don't feel like it's that hard.. if I'm in a group on my archer and I get aggro and get hit, I just stop dps'ing to get my hate down.. then I heal myself to full and go back at it!! Easy enough!! And now you can even see when your hate is low enough to start fighting again!!

Well, that's just what I would do. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, or actual melee dps experience, I'd like to hear it. Especially if there are R50 LNC, MRD, PUG, that have been successful with this technique.
So, just so I'm clear, this is your proposed chain of events:

1. ARC can avoid the damage and keep doing dps, which makes ARC preferable.
2. Instead stepping back to avoid the AoE, just eat the AoE as melee.
3. After eating the AoE, stop damage to heal self.
4. Meanwhile, ARC is still plugging away at DPS (better DPS, even) and not taking damage.

So, how the hell does that make sense, again?
