Their not making any one buy or do anything for that matter. If it's a secret to all of you, this would be one of the only P2p games without a cash shop, as I said, they finally have extra content, like old content from past festivals, we never would have seen that otherwise, it's nice I now have that option if I missed it and really wanted that item.

Again, just because everyone jumps off a bridge, doesn't mean you should.

And selling previous event gear is a good move. I don't mind that, because I payed for a subscription and completed the event. And it makes me happy to know people will have the opportunity to get gear they missed.

However new stuff? I find it impossible to accept that.

Well I feel sorry for you man, it sounds like your looking for a pay to win type environment. If they let people buy the gear I worked months in game getting, that's what would make me un-happy. Thank god their not, their letting people buy stuff that is purely for show.

Jumping off a bridge? I think your finding your self in agreeance with what I'm saying about no, just because other people are using the cash shop dosn't mean you have too. It's completely optional and separate from your experience.

No one in this world WANTS a cash shop.

You may want the items, and feel compelled to buy them.
You may not care about the cash shop because it's vanity.
But no one wants to pay for something you can't get otherwise.

So Square Enix works like a Monkey's Paw now? Giving you what you ask for in the worst way possible? No thanks.
When people ask for Sleipnir as a mount, people asked for a way to obtain it in game, the biggest example being via Odin's Mantles. With Urth's Fount becoming a trial (likely 2.5) that is the perfect way to deliver it, but no. We have to pay for it.

While I do think you're definitely on the right track here, and it's certainly not the worst decision they made involving the cash shop, they could just add the items in as 1 gil purchases the next time the event rolls around (as they've already been doing). Unfortunately now that's completely off the table and you'll have to pay for it instead. Just... because. Other than that, I completely agree with the rest of your posts.
