People want more Fantasia potions and I think that is where the Cash shop idea started from, there are many people who have reached their Fantasia limit.

I will personally buy the minions, I love them . The mount I don't need but the minions are so cute!

Incorrect. You want to do coil and you had to pay $15 to access it? That's called an Add-on or Expansion pack. They know some people will buy vanity items, and will pay for it. I bet if you use a smartphone there's some games you probably play you gladly ended up paying the $1-$6 for because...*gasp* you wanted it and they knew you would pay for it. You can't compare content access with vanity items.

And everyone who keeps saying: "but so in so in a sub game"..maybe next time don't support a WoW "clone"? Beause Blizzard did it for yeeeeeeears.

He's not incorrect, vanity is still content being locked behind a cash shop, though a better analogy would be having to pay in order to get the loot.

And it's not this specific case, the problem is this opens a door for worse things.

The issue I'm having is that now everything not "progression" is on the table for cash shop.

New dye colors? New cute minions? New cool mounts? More vanity gear (ie lighting, dragon quest, etc)? Are they all on the table for cash shop now and we're ok with it? So if 1 out of the next 20 mounts is cash shop is that ok? 1 out of the next 10? Next 5? Next 2? You want a metallic copper dye? Well that'll be $2? I guess furniture items are not progression either right? $5 for the moogle desk is fine?

I am going to commit heresy here, but I am actually looking forward to them adding more unique vanity gear. I like to customize my job looks, and this looks like an interesting way to expanded that horizon.

The mount does not interest me in the slightest. The minions and old Halloween gear perhaps, but we will wait and see.

No MMO cash shop in the history of MMOs has ever actually stayed vanity only. It is better to assume that any cash shop will always go P2W eventually when every example in the history of the genre has done the same. MMO devs are greedy. That's all there is to it. GuildWars 2 is cash shop vanity, so it's TERA Online.

Which is a fair point. I do not really think there is a right or wrong view here. I understand why people may not like a 'cash shop' even if I am not that bothered by it, although some of the venom and anger from both sides is a little unnecessary, I would say.

Took a second to let it sink in. The only thing that sadden's me is that Odin's mount is going to cost about 20 bucks (assuming they use WoW's pricing). That's about it though. I only really feel that way because I like EX fights.

That being said. I kinda hope they REALLY clone WoW's cash shop, because that lead's to awesome minions with awesome plushies mailed to you soon after. Maybe they'll clone GW2 a bit and we'll get some instrument's that can actually make music with. Would I like this all a part of my subscription, of course. But, eff it. Bring on the cash shop, those minions better be fully interactive! I want minion's that battle, have special animations, and rub their butt's on other minions to assert their dominance!
