technically you had the first rude response telling him to choose another job.

Hm, I'll consider linking that thread next time.
The problem I had with trying to explain, I did that a few times already, was that it takes quite some time to do so.
While one of those times was actually the time where a player was thankful for pointing it out, another time I got kicked for "AFK"
because I was standing there writing for 2 minutes, so I chose this approach this time.
I realize I didn't choose the best words but suggesting him to play another job was in no way meant to tell him he "sucks". I mean, if he realized he just doesn't want to use that particular skill, and he actually knows it would be better to do so, there is no reason to assume he'd be a bad player.
He just chooses to play the job wrong. If you choose to willingly play your job wrong, it means you are not enjoying the way it's meant to be played, and that's a big indicator to start looking for something you enjoy.
I realize I didn't choose the best words, but I also noticed in the long run, whenever you try to make a quick point about something, it sounds rude for some. Basically what I noticed is the longer the text, the less offended people get by it. But the longer I take to write, the more annoyed people are with me just standing around. It's quite a predicament and I always find myself wondering what is the best way.
While I might not have chosen the best words, I very much avoided using any rude phrases/insults, and no matter how you look at it, being called a "dick" and an "ass" is everything but trying to be nice.

"I play how I want." Someone with that mind set ain't gonna take advice no matter how you phrase it anyways.I realize I didn't choose the best words, but I also noticed in the long run, whenever you try to make a quick point about something, it sounds rude for to some. I feel like this isn't the first time that particular person has been given "advice" by the way they are typing.
You weren't exactly warm and friendly tbh. I'd be put off too.
If I wanna give some advice I usually start with "hey X, may I give you a tip?" and I've never gotten a no. And if they did... well whatevs, it's Halatali HM, I'd just ignore them.
"You should open with Fire III."
"You should open with Fire III first because it grants you full Astral Fire which maxes out the damage of your fire spells at the start."
Ya sorry but you were rude first {hey start with fire 3 } no ty } then you do a other job} yea if you talk to ppl like that you get what you get
Giving some advice is one thing but when he tells you "but thank you for the advice" and you reply by saying "Then you should choose another job"... well what part of that sentence was giving advice or being constructive? As others have said, I can understand where he was coming from after, cause that line comes across as condescending and rude.
If you can't look at that and see why he/she may have felt that way I don't know what else to tell you.
In this game I have seen many people attempt to help others in dungeons and such and rarely does that help include telling someone to choose another job. It took you 5 seconds to type that and would have taken you exactly 1 more seconds to read it and realize its implications. The whole conversation could have taken a different tone if you had just done that.I realize I didn't choose the best words, but I also noticed in the long run, whenever you try to make a quick point about something, it sounds rude for some. If your quick points always "sound rude to some" maybe you should look at yourself and your delivery. Because while I have seen a few get upset or offended when someone tries to offer help, more often that not, they don't.

Not saying you were in the wrong to try and help, but you weren't that polite in your 'advice' Telling someone to not play the job they are using because they suck is not a good idea and most definitely not advice. You definitely look like the 'Dick' I'll have to agree. Its best to keep your mouth shut and act like its the best BLM you've ever partied with. People on general are way too sensitive.
